There has been a wording change on TUI website, see underlined section.

If you’re unable to accept a refund credit you can apply for a refund; due to the volume of holidays impacted, we’re asking you not to contact us until you receive your refund credit so we can continue helping customers in date order. However, if you do need to request your refund before this you can do so using the details below. Please be aware that our call centre teams are incredibly busy, so call waiting times are considerably longer than usual. You can call 0203 451 2868 between 9am and 7pm from Monday to Friday

Upon receiving the email stating you will be getting a refund credit (voucher), would it be worth emailing TUI to state you do not accept it and want a cash refund?
They tell you to wait until it's on your account (4 weeks from date of holidaty), however I'm worried that by doing nothing upon receipt of the email will imply that I accept the voucher. This might have implications Futher down the line if they were to go into administration.
It would have no implications at all. ATOL would know you had a cancelled holiday and would pay you back accordingly if push came to shove
What about flight only bookings though? As the vouchers for those are not ATOL protected

Forum members, on my first whistle, pick up the phone....
  • Hi, can anyone help me out with contact details for TUI in order that I can submit a claim for a lost holiday. I cannot find an email address on their website and I have tried calling them everyday for nigh on 2 weeks but cannot get through. I get the same message every time saying they are extremely busy and to try again later or that the office is closed despite the fact I’m calling on a weekday during ‘working hours’. I did find one potential email address ‘serviceuk@tui.co.uk’ but when I sent an email I received a generic response advising that they were extremely busy and the email will not be responded to! I was redirected back to their website which simply informs me to call them but obviously I cannot get through.
Just want to submit a claim,  not expecting immediate payment as understand they are busy but I am getting no where fast. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There is actually already a TUI Refund thread
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6119390/tui-refunds-thread#latest

If you are referring to compensation for a lost holiday, one that was curtailed whilst on the holiday you would probably be best to complete their online web form https://www.tui.co.uk/destinations/contact-us/after-travel

Setting expectation levels I wouldn't expect to hear anything for a while.
  • I have paid £150 deposit as first part of holiday. Tui is asking for an additional £400 to cancel my holiday. If I don’t pay 2nd installment can they just take it from my card or will they just cancel the holiday and keep my deposit
  • Yes if that’s how you have set up payment they can take it from your card.
They will cancel the holiday and will chase you for the remaining £400 if you do not pay as that is the remaining deposit that is due to them under the contract you signed.

You agreed to a Low Deposit scheme and as it stands you havent covered the full deposit.
