The excursions will also be cancelled, and therefore their cost will be included in any refund credit or refund.
The port parking I believe falls into 'holiday extras' ..... "Tui will proactively contact customers about these." So a bit uncertain.0 -
I am due to go to Sardinia in July through TUI and need to pay the balance on 2nd May. I am happy to pay it if I know that I will get a full refund later in the year.
My question is will I be refunded in total if they went in to administration?0 -
We are due to fly to Egypt in October. We have paid a low deposit of £400. Tui are asking for the remaining deposit of £1200. We are now unsure about how we feel going away in October as my parents are elderly. Are we really liable for the remaining £1200? We don’t mind losing £400, but £1600 is too much to write off and presumably we won’t get a refund unless the holiday is cancelled. Does anyone please have any advice? Thank you0

Bored, I decided to do an insurance claim & a Section 75 (lockdown so nothing better to do), great advice on 'how to' for the Section 75 on Which & thetraveljournalist.co.uk Be interested to see what the results are for both (no, most likely). Joined Twitter & great links & advice from PTR Travel Refund Advice / ScrewedByTravel / roryboland (the Which travel editor), & to communicate a bit with TUI, & see what other travellers were doing.
Anyway, not waiting for an IOU from TUI (trip was 19 April), then phoning, then waiting again for refund. Rang today regardless, got "can't take your call just now, try again later", 5 minutes later I tried again & this time got in the 'on hold' queue. 1hr 6 mins there & lovely girl says of course I can have refund, hold while she processes it. Told 5-7 days & definitely a cash refund to our card, not a voucher. I question that as I expected 1 - 2 months, but told no, she's processed the refund while I was on hold. £4425.10 (including premium seats cost). I kept to my rule of be nice, be polite, be friendly - it's not their fault & she's been having something of a hard time.
We'll see, but at least the cancellation invoice has come through, next will be the refund documents. Hopefully.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.1 -
Upon receiving the email stating you will be getting a refund credit (voucher), would it be worth emailing TUI to state you do not accept it and want a cash refund?
They tell you to wait until it's on your account (4 weeks from date of holidaty), however I'm worried that by doing nothing upon receipt of the email will imply that I accept the voucher. This might have implications Futher down the line if they were to go into administration.
