They are breaking their contacts by not refunding within 14 days, so doesn’t give people confidence to pay them any
more money. If they then take people to court for not paying  the rest of their deposits and not sticking to their contracts this would make them hypocrites

Think I would rather lose 500 -1k then possibly  lose 7k.  I just think they are wrong in trying to take money off people, which  they probably won’t refund when the holiday becomes cancelled.  If you opt to amend the holiday for a latter date you are then not covered for covid-19 by the insurance companies as it is classed as a new booking.

That's a decision only you can make.
You know you will lose £500 (and possibly the rest of the low deposit) if you don't pay any more.
You don't know - at this stage - what will happen if you pay the remainder of the low deposit and then the full amount when it's due.
    Your choice.
It was a choice I had to make myself 3 weeks ago.

Not an easy decision. If I knew they were giving refunds to people, then the decision would be much easier. But they have lost public confidence at the moment. Unlike Jet2 who seem to be dealing with things better.

Just tried to phone them now to discuss my payment but it just says ‘we cannot connect your call’ looks like they have taken their telephone lines down. Does anyone know anything? I was going to discus paying the rest of the deposit and ask for an extension for the other payment, but I can’t even do this.

I think it really is a decision you're going to have to make for yourself.

You're going to have to make the decision based on which you think is the best course of action.  If it were me, I'd plump for the known loss.

To put things into perspective, my balance was just less than £1k.
I may well have looked at things differently if I knew I was going to have to pay a further £7k.

Thanks it’s just that I received an email on Saturday asking for payment. But it also asked me to ring them immediately on a number that was closed at the weekend and now looks like it has been taken down. People are now wondering if they are going into administration?
