I had to cancel my flights to Portugal and need to claim via my travel insurance. I cancelled 3 weeks ago and need confirmation from them that i have cancelled. I havnt recieved anything yet and the booking now doesnt exist. They have actually refunded my Tax back. Anybody else been in the same situation and what do you actually recieve when you cancel a flight with easyjet?

It's only my opinion but I would say that anyone still seeking overdue refunds from easyjet should make a determined effort to obtain said refunds ASAP -   £104 million to just £7 million latest turnover is surely not sustainable.

As soon as they open on a Saturday morning, keep redialling until you get put in a Q (you'll soon know when that happens because the initial message is different), then wait for an answer.
  • Use this number to contact EasyJet, phoned them on Thursday money returned to credit card by Saturday. Very helpful staff. Got through in 10 mins.

I've just rung that Manchester number and, much to my astonishment, got through in less than a minute - many thanks!
The voucher booking was straightforward (apart from both of us having to repeat stuff), and they didn't charge the £15 per passenger extra for phone bookings.
(Still haven't got a legitimate reason why the voucher wasn't just made available on my account).

Hi all.  Could someone please clarify if I’m correct in thinking I’m entitled to a full refund on some flights ?

Booked return flights for 2 in February, departing end of August and returning early September.  There was a choice of 2 return flights, one at midday and a later one just after 3pm, which I chose.

Had an email today and it seems our return flight is no more so we’ve been switched to the earlier one (different flight no.).  EasyJet are trying to fob me off by claiming a ‘schedule change’ instead of a cancellation, saying I’m not entitled to a refund, which I believe is nonsense.  Am I correct ?

Yes, you most certainly are and they recently tried that one with me also. If it's a different flight ref number and both flights booked under the same booking you have the right to claim a full refund on both flights. The moment they objected to offering me the refund I informed them via email I would be actioning a chargeback and did do so.

Many thanks for clarifying, I've already sent a formal complaint via email so I'll also let them know I'll be actioning a chargeback.  I've used EasyJet dozens of times and really thought they were above this sort of thing.  I know times are tough but when they blatantly lie it's just not acceptable.

Sounds very similar to me and yes, agree times are tough...however, not only did they attempt to move me onto another flight but they attempted it without even informing me. I found out when checking my account online. And not only that but the original flight had so called 'speed boarding' additional paid for and the moved flight had me in 'seat allocation'. They then 'doctored' the payment confirmation that you can download hiding the 'speedy boarding' fee within the moved flight cost. I've used them on and off over the last 20 odd years but after that behaviour will make a determined effort to not ever fly wth them again.
