Contact your credit card company and ask for a chargeback as Easyjet did not provide a service you paid for http://www.theukcardsassociation.org.uk/individual/chargeback-for-credit-and-debit-card-purchases.asp

I'm not sure what the legal recourse will be here, what with it being an "extraordinary circumstance" and all that. What's the EU regulation on refunds you guys were talking about above? Would it be relevant in this case?
It's important to clarify that you are not entitled to compensation, but you are entitled to a refund.0 -
I like many thousands of others that booked with EasyJet were not able to travel. Ten days ago EasyJet emailed to advise our flight was cancelled with the option to rebook or receive a full refund. We decided to accept a full refund. The refund request was processed and we received an email with a full breakdown of the amount to be refunded back onto our bank card. The email also advised that it would take up to 7 days for the refund to be processed. It is now 10 days since we received confirmation of the refund and it has still not been credited back. Despite numerous attempts to phone, contact via chat, contact via social media and also twitter, EasyJet have failed to respond directly. The EasyJet response on there Facebook site to those in similar circumstances have been completely unhelpful.I fully appreciate that they are extremely busy however continuing to advertise flights for sale via there Facebook site whilst not answering and addressing customer concerns as regards there pending refunds is rubbing salt into the wound. If they are under so much pressure why do they not email customers awaiting refunds and put a message onto social media to advise that due to the high volumes of refund requirements this is taking longer than usual. At least they will be managing the problem and setting customer expectation. At the same time they may well reduce the number of calls they are receiving with regards to this matter.
There will be many customers who will be experiencing financial hardship at this time and receiving the refund within the 7 days as advised would be of great benefit. Can any pressure be brought to bear on EasyJet to address this issue or at least provide an explanation for the delay?1 -
EasyJet cancelled my flight for tomorrow this morning. I just spoke to customer services who refused to give me a card refund. She would only offer a voucher as a refund. I want my money back instead. I recorded the call. In it she said things like ‘EasyJet are losing too much money to give you a refund’. She wouldn’t put me through to anyone else and hung up on me after 40 mins.

well done on getting through to them....I have been trying for 3 days. One cancelled flight yesterday and another for tomorrow. Have tried phoning and social media and getting nowhere. Suspect having to go down the chargeback route with card company
note: the notification received when you log in states " We are very sorry your flight has been cancelled. Please choose a free flight change to another flight, or a full refund of the cost of your flight and any directly related un-flown sectors within the same booking."

I contacted Easyjet on twitter emessaging about my flights Edinburgh to London on 17th April & London to Edinburgh on 19th April. They have offered me an exchange for other flights before Feb 2021 but I have no idea when the wedding I was going to will be taking place , so I requested a refund. This is their reply..........====You can check the status of your flight on our tracker here- (link) If your flight is operating as normal, our standard terms and conditions will apply. Please keep an eye on our tracker nearer the time of your flight. ====These flights are daily flights & are all cancelled for today & the next couple of days. Will I have to wait until a couple of days before my flights to see if they are cancelled & try for a refund? This is what their terms & conditions say.
===If we cancel your flight you can transfer to another available easyJet flight to the same (or a nearby) destination for free, or if you prefer you can get a full refund.====

I've had my Easyjet flights cancelled. They suggest I rebook flights under manage bookings but I want a refund, which I can't sort in "manage bookings" Customer service is nonexistent. I have tried to call for 2 weeks without success. The online chat facility will not accept any input. My flights were due to depart next week and I'm now worried that I'll lose my chance of a refund, if I don't make contact before next week. Can I still claim a refund after departure date as I haven't accepted the offer to take alternative flights. Can anyone please give advice?
Many thanks.0 -
