I am only getting option to change flight too, no refund button.
Cannot get through on phone, they just cut me off every time I call
Do you think emailing for refund would work, my original flight was for 27th March so not a lot of time left to make contact if I need to do it before that date.

My date is the same. I have already tried emailing a response to their original email and emails their complaints email but got a response saying that the email address was no longer in use.
Which email address did you use?

I am having similar issues. My flight on Saturday (21.3.) was cancelled on Thursday (19.3.). I didn't want to change the flight but couldn't figure out how to get a refund. I tried calling them but as said here before, they just hang up automatically and the chat is not available. My main question is, is it now too late to ask for a refund, since the original flight date has passed?
  • Did some digging and the EU Commissioner for Transport Adina Vălean said today:

In light of the mass cancellations and delays passengers and transport operators face due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Commission wants to provide legal certainty on how to apply EU passenger rights. In case of cancellations, the transport provider must reimburse or re-route the passengers. If passengers themselves decide to cancel their journeys, reimbursement of the ticket depends on its type, and companies may offer vouchers for subsequent use,” Commissioner Vălean said.

According to him, these guidelines will provide travellers and carriers with the necessary legal information on how to apply the EU passenger rights in a coordinated manner across the European Union.

    So EASYJET....have that!

  • Yes, I know that Easyjet are required to provide compensation under EU regulations and there is a link to the appropriate form (EU261) on their website. It should be located in the cancellations section. But they appear to have pulled this too because if you click on it, nothing happens. You certainly can't make a claim.
They can't have gone bust because they had £1.6Bn cash on their balance sheet only recently.

not sure if that is a typo but there is no EU261 compensation due in this sutuation

  • I have a flight booked for Thursday 26th from Edinburgh to Lisbon which hasn't even been cancelled on their website yet. I was led to believe that all of their flights were grounded, so surely this HAS actually been cancelled but they haven't got round to putting it on their system? I'm also looking for a refund but with no contact available (and i've been continually trying all day) and not even a "manage disruption" link to click on am I just going to lose my money here? Time is running out for me to able to speak to them!

you will only see the "manage disruption" link if the flight is cancelled
they say they are continue operating some flights. I had bookings on Wednesday and Friday from London to Edinburgh for some family...Wednesday (tomorrow) flight cancelled and trying to get a refund (with difficulty) and Friday flight still scheduled but has had a 3 hour time change (it is not going to be used so I am hoping for a cancellation otherwise I will be left with the option of a rebooking only)

I saw somebody comment on FB that they were told (having spoken to Easyjet) that as their flight was cancelled by Easyjet, if they hadn't rebooked after 30 days, Easyjet would automatically refund.

My flights haven't yet been cancelled for this weekend, but as we should have S75 protection, I think we'll be in the position to see how things develop and if the above is true.
  • Yes thanks Caz3121, I appreciate that no compensation is due, in this situation,.under the terms of EC261.  The point that I was trying to make (badly) was in response to an earlier post in that not only is there no longer an option available to claim a REFUND from Easyjet, but also that the link to EC261 (i.e. compensation claim form) appears to have been removed from their site. Easyjet appear to be making it difficult, nay impossible, for customers to get a refund OR compensation of any sort.

In any case, my partner isn't interested in claiming compensation, she just wants her money back for a service that is no longer being offered to her. An additional complication is that although the Easyjet site states that her flight to London has been cancelled, it is still showing her return flight to Edinburgh as active. There is no facility for her to cancel that booking, although she can change it to another date at no extra cost. What's the point, if she can't get to London in the first place?

There's no way they are still running a flight from Edinburgh to Lisbon on Thursday - it feels to me like they're avoiding marking it as being cancelled to stop people with tickets being able to even begin the process of claiming a refund, along with closing their phone lines and web chat. There is activity on their Twitter account but so far i've had no reply.
Willi be forced to either rebook at the last minute to avoid losing out on the flight money altogether? If I held on until Thursday morning and *then* they cancelled the flight, would i still be legally entitled to a refund? Any advice here is much appreciated!
