Just thanking our Dustman 🥰

I work in a GP surgery and a local cafe made us all two huge boxes of cakes; a veg delivery box scheme I use gave me extra veg for free with a thank you card, made me cry!|4

I work for a charity which is still open and leaning how to work in different ways with very vulnerable people. We had a delivery of care packages the other day with the sweetest note from probably a primary school aged child saying they had made and sold cakes to raise the money for these. I think we all had leaky eyes after that ...Signature removed for peace of mind3

megw said:between work, I am looking to volunteer a bit during this time and donate to food banks too. When we were leaving I waved to as many staff as I could find and wished them a happy Easter. Every single one responded positively and when other customers saw this they joined in as well.
The camaraderie over the last 3 weeks has been amazing. We’ve chatted in the supermarket queues to complete strangers and it has felt like they were old friends.I hope some of it stays with us when the lockdown finishes. I won’t say “when things get back to normal” because I think our definition of normal is going to change.
Happy Easter everyone5 -
olgadapolga said:My seven year old daughter had me in tears yesterday. She brought down her moneybox (full of coppers) and asked me to help her count it. When we'd reached the total (£14.86) my daughter announced that she wanted to spend it on some boxes of chocolates for the NHS staff.
She was a little disappointed that we couldn't go out there and then to get the chocolates but I reassured her that next time we go shopping, it will be the first thing on the list. When I had a major op I wanted to buy a huge box of chocolates for the ward. However a retired nurse friend said that everybody bought chocolates or chocolate biscuits and a lot of the nurses were really struggling with their weight. She thought some hand cream might be nice so when I was in TKMaxx I had a look and found lots of Crabtree & Evelyn small sizes, 12 to a box and they were very cheap. If you haven’t used C & E hand cream before it’s gorgeous.
The nurses were really pleased and 2 or 3 said “it makes a nice change from chocolate”3 -
Some lovely stories on here - it's reassuring that there are so many good people out there.1

when I had my knee replacement I handed out a big batch of cards to all the staff, not forgetting the physiotherapists (vital after a new knee!) and I didn’t forget the Consultant. They were all brilliant and all played a vital part
