Refund from Hoppa re cancellation

  • Thanks mjfp509. I have now done this 5 times. Bizarrely today I received an email from a Help Team Rep with a Ticket number. The email was rubbish asking if I was making a payment! I went back on to Hoppa and keyed in the Ticket ID they gave me. It came back saying query settled or similar. Going to go now to my credit card company as this is unbearable. I have used Hoppa for years but will never go near them again.

    Same here - have always been happy with Hoppa and have used their service many times, but them not giving refunds and the inability to contact them is infuriating. Also annoyed with paypal as they declined my claim as they said it went againt their terms and conditions, yet allowed other ones !!! No consistency applied. Unfortunately, as I paid by paypal balance (certainly won't do that anymore), I cannot go down the claiming on your card route unfortunately. Good luck with with that though.
  • I have had 3 bookings with Hoppa this year and two have been cancelled due to COVID. As per everyone else I cancelled the bookings online with Hoppa and was only ever offered the credits and not a refund. As my bookings were under £100 I could not claim a chargeback via my credit card company so instead I am going via the claims court (used to be small claims court). It costs £25 and I expected to win. I’ll get my fee paid to Hoppa back, the £25 court fee and interest to boot. I’d advise others to do the same.

    As my bookings were under £100 I could not claim a chargeback via my credit card company so instead I am going via the claims court (used to be small claims court).
    There is no such stipulation for chargeback, just for section 75, which is a different process.

  • Hi, I purchased and paid for a package trip to Poland in February 2020, due to travel mid April at a cost of £720. with lastminute.com. The trip was understandably cancelled in early April, the company wrote to me in May offering £360 cash refund which i refused. I said I would contact my credit card company to get the money back,the next day i received an email saying they had made a mistake and offered £703.10 which i accepted on the 4th June 2020.The email informed me i would be kept up to date and to check their website as well. 
    The website stated on the 4th June that my refund was being processed and would take two week, that was over four weeks ago. There is no way to send an email, the phone number for customer service directs you to the website which is out of date. How do i get my money back?

  • I paid for a mini bus from Split Airport to Zaton in Croatia and the return journey 2 weeks later. 
    Hoppa didnt turn up for either. When i contacted the local company whose number was on the confirmation, I was told they no longer work with Hoppa as Hoppa have not paid them for last years work.
    Hoppas customer service team were not taking cals as they are working from home so i had to fill in an online form on their website to complain while also trying to organise a mini bus with at the taxi stand outside the airport.
    this cost me over £300.00 for the mini bus to take us to our destination and £300 for the return journey.
    Hoppa are refusing to repay the extra money I had to spend and will only give me Hoppa credits for the £400 i had already paid them for the service they did not provide.
    I have told them I will never use Hoppa again so I dont want the credits but they arent listening.
    I am going to seek legal advice and take them to small claims court if they do not refund me all monies owed.

Had a email 8hours before we fly out  to say ‘ we need to up grade to a mini bus because the Fourth person cannot sit in the front with the driver , so Logged in to try to change my booking but all Ikept getting was Sorry no minibuses available , Tried all night to email them but had no response Our flight was at 4 o’clock in the morning so when we got to our destination we had to pay for a taxi to get to a hotel and the same for our return journey back totalling £120 , I’ve been emailing him time after time but no response I am so angry I worked so hard I’ve lost £130 of my art earn money it’s not fair that they can rip people off like this

    When you arrived at the airport did you check that there was not someone there to pick you up? they would normally stand with a card or piece of paper with your name on.
  • Hoppa cancelled the return half of my transfer booking whilst I was still abroad. They said that the coach company was ending the season early (end of August) and I would not therefore be picked up as booked. A few days later I went onto their website and got a quote for the exact same day and time, and was sent by email a firm quote for transfer with the same company, but at a much much higher price. I booked a car hire to the airport with another company at a lower price than Hoppa were quoting. I cannot get Hoppa to refund me for the cancelled half of my booking, let alone pay my out of pocket expense for car hire to get back to airport.
