Rumours abound that Tesla will be manufacturing their own batteries.csgohan4 said:if the bottle neck is the battery companies, would it be prudent to invest in them alongside/ instead of the end users for them?
Who knows they may even cut out more middle men and mine Lithium themselves (or The Boring Company could do it!).One person caring about another represents life's greatest value.0 -
That could go any number of ways. Be an opportunity for Musk to convert shares into cash.AnotherJoe said:bowlhead99 said:
I'm short since day before results - it initially spiked up, but fortunately the September market is currently down to about $1486 which is about 6% lower than my $1574 entry. Not a 'hold it and roll it forever' position though, as I'm sure that some people have made big losses trying to short it in the past when the market gets excited for one reason or another.MPN said:
If you do think it could reach $2.5-$5K then now is probably a good time to buy more as the price has dipped to around $1500?AnotherJoe saidLOL. I bought 4 last week for a quick buck, if they pop to $2k I'll sell those.I'm keeping the rest until maybe $2.5k-$5k each. And I would definitely buy into SpaceX / Starlink. You're short Tesla? Thats gonna hurt when S&P500 inclusion is announced0 -
If you mean a capital raise the shares went up 30% within a few weeks of the last one.Thrugelmir said:

Down 5-6% from where they opened this morning. If we all know all the S&P trackers need to buy them in six or seven weeks why would people want to exit...
Maybe the investors were impressed by the results at AAPL, AMZN and FB yesterday and are cashing in their monster TSLA gains to hop onto whatever else looks like being flavour of the week.0 -
Lithium isn't "mined" as such. You drill a vertical borehole (small diameter) pump water down to dissolve the salts, then pump it back up and evaporate the water in drying ponds.Username999 said:

No, sell out a little. After all he collects a $2.5 billion share bonus if the S&P listing comes off. Probably why this years annual General Meeting was postponed until September. Wants good news to deflect from the remuneration policy set by the company. That's going to come under scrutiny.AnotherJoe said:

Probably why this years annual General Meeting was postponed until September. It was delayed because of pandemic and to coincide with Battery Day. It's expected that he'll give details of the Million Mile battery, more details about the transition way from cobalt and probably more details on the Texas site for the new Cybertruck Gigafactory.Lots of interesting stuff. I would think that the likelihood is that the SP will increase further.
