Air Transat cancellation - no refund?

I filed mine late Wednesday evening so the 17th June. I will be interested to see if _BeerMat_ has this pending authorisation credit too.

I daresay Air Transat will dispute it but I think they will struggle with all the info I sent Barclaycard.

Exactly how can Air Transat dispute it though
A chargeback is for services paid for but not received, I paid for flights to Toronto.
Not a credit note for 24 months, with strings attached to it.
Yes lets wait and see what happens next.

No comms from Barclaycard about it yet, other than the confirmation of form so don't know whether or not it means they're reviewing what I've sent to then decide Or they've charged it back already. Hopefully they'll advise at some point. Still at least it covers my bill for a while.

I only DM'd twitter - I'll tweet them now to askem to review DM's if you think that works.

So you mean it goes from Pending Authorisation to Temp Air Transat Credit?

No comms from Barclaycard about it yet, other than the confirmation of form so don't know whether or not it means they're reviewing what I've sent to then decide Or they've charged it back already. Hopefully they'll advise at some point. Still at least it covers my bill for a while.

They've probably just credited it back and wait to see if/how Air Transat responds.

Thanks Jem, yes pending and then appears as transaction, 'Temp Cr - Air Transat'. I did see on some of the FB forums Air Transat are challenging back the chargebacks but we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed. Looking at Airtransat tweets they're taking about 4/5 days to respond!

Thanks to Alan Bowen and Jem 16. First, I have got by £2K plus back from Canadian Affairs, so will now complain to the CAA and give Canadian Affairs one last chance to refund me £500 or I will be doing a chargeback.

Could you elaborate on your post a little please?

How did you get £2k back from Canadian Affair and how does that differ from the other £500 you want? Is one part for holiday and one part for the flights?

I had flights booked direct with Air Transat for October this year travelling from Glasgow to Toronoto then back from Vancouver to London Gatwick. We hadn’t yet booked our internal flights.

With no warning the other day I recieved a voucher in my email for the two flights (for the fare price but not including a couple of extras we’d paid for). We paid via MasterCard so will try to chargeback. Had this happened to anyone else? I was surprised they cancelled so far in advance - perhaps they are cancelling these routes for the rest of the year?!

The Vancouver route has been cancelled for the rest of the year.
