Air Transat cancellation - no refund?

Thanks Alan Bowen, Not sure what good complaining to the CAA would do as Air Transat is not a member; something which would make me think again about ever booking with them.0

The CAA is the UK's regulator and so governs any and all flights departing form the UK. Airlines are not members of the CAA. Perhaps you are think of the ADR which Air Transat is not a member of?Russ46 said:Thanks Alan Bowen, Not sure what good complaining to the CAA would do as Air Transat is not a member; something which would make me think again about ever booking with them.
It is certainly very worthwhile complaining to the CAA about Air Transat basically flouting the Eu/UK laws and everyone on this thread has already done so. In fact I have also escalated my complaint within the CAA via PACT. I know of one person so far who has been contacted by the CAA after escalating her complaint and the CAA is now taking it up with Air Transat. The more complaints that the CAA receives, the more likely they are to take action against them.0 -
I've had little joy getting a response from Air Transat having DM via Facebook and twitter.In the meantime I've lodged the dispute with Barclaycard. They've put the transaction on hold whilst they investigate. Not sure how long that will take but hopefully they've enough info to chargeback.Have also written to the CAA🤞0

Keep at them, especially on Twitter. Have you tweeted too to say you've sent a DM but no reply?_BeerMatt_ said:I've had little joy getting a response from Air Transat having DM via Facebook and twitter.In the meantime I've lodged the dispute with Barclaycard. Yes Barclaycard has done that with me too but makes no difference as it was fully paid back in February anyway.0 -
Update from me;
My Barclaycard has a new pending payment today of the full amount Air Transat owe me. I thought that they would put it on hold as they said in my claim email receipt but it's actually back in my account for now.0 -

Pleased to hear it, Air Transat and their UK subsidiary need to understand that if they want to trade in the UK they have to comply with the law.0

Precisely! I think they will find it more difficult to dispute by saying the CTA thinks vouchers are ok.Alan_Bowen said:Pleased to hear it, Air Transat and their UK subsidiary need to understand that if they want to trade in the UK they have to comply with the law.0 -
Great stuff, looks like we sent our chargebacks around the same time (10/5/2020)jem16 said:Update from me;

still awaiting my other chargeback for Luggage & Pre Booked seats. (on another credit card)
suppose we have to wait now to see what Air Transat do, They can't really object as its been made perfectly clear they are breaching UK law by refusing the refunds.
** I was told Air Transat have 45 days to dispute this0 -
I filed mine late Wednesday evening so the 17th June. I will be interested to see if _BeerMat_ has this pending authorisation credit too.bignred05 said:

I daresay Air Transat will dispute it but I think they will struggle with all the info I sent Barclaycard.0
