Not had an email yet but checked on the app and our flights are now cancelled. Logged into Norwegian website and given 3 options. Rebook, CashPoints + 20% or refund.
Chose refund option so will now just wait for return of monies. I presume they will be inundated so it may be a while.0 -
So I spoke to Norwegian after just 2 minutes on hold (!!) and got a very helpful response.
- For my outbound flight (first booking ref) in mid-April, the flight is cancelled so that's a straightforward cancel & refund on the website.
- For my inbound flight (second booking ref) 2.5 weeks later, which is still scheduled, the advice was to cancel, then submit a claim for an unused flight making sure to quote the first booking ref in the comments. I was told this was the right way to do things and I would get a full refund on both flights.

I have just called Norwegian, I was due to fly to Orlando with them on the 24 April and return 1 May. They sent me an email to say they'd cancelled our outgoing flight. I was nervous to cancel the return flight as I didn't want cash points in case they go under however they agreed to refund me the full amount to my credit card with no trouble.

I need advice, please. We were due to return from LAX to Gatwick with Norwegian this Saturday 28th.
Last Saturday the 21st they cancelled the flight via email - 7 days and a few hours before the flight.
I phoned them wanting for them to get us home as I believe they have a responsibility to do.
They offered a flight home that evening or from April 17th which is when their next available flights were.
Now we couldn't fly home that evening because we were 500 miles away (Tucson) and obviously were not going to stay in America until April 17th.
The lady at Norwegian told me there was nothing they could do and couldn't get us home because of the travel ban. At this point I had not heard of any travel ban and told her there wasn't a travel ban and she hung up on me.
I booked two flights home on Monday from LAX with Virgin Atlantic (obviously there is no travel ban) and arrived home yesterday.
I haven't cancelled the flight with Norwegian, yet.
The costs I incurred are the two flights from LAX to Heathrow : £884.26 and the taxi from Heathrow to Gatwick where my car was parked: £60.
The refund from Norwegian would be less than £300 in total (the flights were very cheap and the return flights about £150 each).
So I'm down by over £600.
I haven't chosen what to do with the flights, yet. I don't want to cancel for CashPoints because after this experience, I'm not flying with Norwegian again.
Should I just cancel the flights for a refund and then claim on my travel insurance?

Has anyone received a refund yet? I just asked on the website, and the chat bot thing said between 5 and 7 days. It's day 7 for me, but am assuming it's working days. Will give til Friday then chase.0

I paid on credit card, so worst case scenario they go bust and I get the refund off the card provider!!0 -
I requested a refund 12 days ago. I managed to speed to someone at Norwegian on the phone the conversation went like this:ME: "There is no evidence of my booking even existing on your site any more"NW: "I can see it here and that a refund is being processed"
ME: "When will I get the refund?"NW: "You have to understand that we have a lot of refunds to process, it will take a long time" ...ME: "Are we talking days or weeks?"NW: "Definitely many weeks"So don't expect a prompt refund. Norwegian are going to hang on to your money for as long as they can....0
