Norwegian Air/CashPoints or refund?

  • I just phoned Norwegian air to ask about my booking. They were really helpful to me, they said the booking was missing due to the flight being cancelled and I would expect be refunded to the card I used within 10 days. 
    Shortly after the call they sent me a receipt of my booking detailing the cost.
    I will update you guys with any more progress or when/if the refund is reimbursed

    Not so fast :smiley:!!  They have currently cancelled all flights to JFK until 16th April. We are due to fly out two days later, so the flight still stands. As such we are still being strongly encouraged to rebook or take the points.

    Time will tell, They aint payed back yet and will it be the full amount. No one knows

    Is there any updated news on Norwegian airlines as to refunds, has anyone received one, due to fly to us on 17th April, won’t be able to go due to us restrictions, flight still say going.
    i don’t want points either.
    what are we meant to do
    any new updates would be welcome 

    if if we do have to accept points how long do they last for

    I fly on the 4th April and I'm still waiting to hear. They only started cancelling flights weekend just gone. I've seen they are offering cashpoints plus 20% now, but they have to be used by November 2020. I don't think you will hear until much nearer the time I'm afraid.
  • I just logged into my booking. Both my flights have been cancelled, 29th March Gatwick to Buenos Aires, and 16th April back from Rio. I was given the option to change the booking, get cash points +20%, or refund. I went refund. Let's see if the money arrives...

    I logged in to my booking today to find out my flights have been cancelled (I haven't received anything from Norwegian to say this so I haven't checked before). I have requested a refund so will see.
  • Well this is going to be interesting. My outbound flight LGW-JFK is now cancelled, but my inbound ORD-LGW isn't. I wonder if they'll pay out on the latter as obviously there's no way of me taking that flight and I'm not wanting to rebook now until same time next year. I'll let you know...
  • I've asked for refund too. Despite the temptation of 20% covering the price increase if/when we next book as my son will be 2 yrs it seems too risky that Norwegian will fold and cashpoints will be worthless.  I'll post here if/when I get refund.
