What is everyone doing with things like cleaners?

I don't think she should bring her child.
Could she come at a different time of day if childcare is possible then?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
My cleaner has messaged and offered to return and although I miss her and the house needs a good scrub we don't feel ready to have anyone else in the house yet. I definitely wouldn't want a child to come along, not only double the risk of infection, either way but also little fingers fiddling while she getting bored waiting for Mum. Children should be going back to school soon so can you hang on until then ? Or as Sue suggested above try a different time?Decluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/20

I doubt her child would double the risk of infection as the child would be in the same household unit as the cleaner (unless the child has also been visiting her other parent that lives in a different household). But children do have a tendency to touch things and another person in your home must add to the risk slightly.I would say no to the child personally. But yes to the cleaner, if she can sort childcare.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Hi there thanks for the responses - would you still recommend she wears a mask and gloves?0

More important to be clear that if any house that she has cleaned in shows signs of an infection she stops cleaning.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I wouldn't want anyone but the one person in. I often take my teen son with me in the holidays (with clients ok) and I pay him to work with me. I won't be doing that for a long time now.
I wouldn't wear gloves. But I will be using a kitchen and bathroom spray that contains bleach, and washing my hands before beginning and before leaving, bringing my own liquid soap to use, so would like to think that my hands will be fine! Won't be wearing a mask unless asked, I would find it restrictive as it's a physical job, but again if any client requested me too I will.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0 -
Thank you, I've asked her to come alone, she seemed a bit annoyed but I explained it wasn't personal.1

hmmm having some difficulties still with my cleaner. She still keeps saying she needs to bring her daughter as she can't find childcare. Totally understand the challenges at the moment but I previously said I can only allow her to come alone for now. I rearranged for another day but it's becoming a bit of a problem.0

Let the kid come, or tell her not to come but pay her anyway.0

Can't the kid sit in your garden (if you have one) while her mum is working.
