Don't generalise, some people can't physically manage without them!

For those with illness or disability mixing of household is permitted under the care banner. So if they can't manage a basic standard of home hygiene then they do need someone coming in.

But I agree, anyone that can possibly manage without a cleaner, even if it means someone disabled who can manage the basics but prefers the place pristine, should be doing without now.

I'm sure a lot of people will have so much more time on their hands what with working from home / having hours reduced etc that cleaning their own home is now possible. It's the cleaners themselves that might be in a tricky position when work dries up.

Some people are working full time (both parents), home-schooling, looking after babies, cleaning, preparing 3 meals for the family every day.  It is not possible to do all of those things effectively at the same time - something has to be compromised each day unfortunately.
To err is human, but it is against company policy.
  • Our cleaner cancelled all domestic cleans herself and is now just doing new build and commercial premises.

If anyone has any experience of trying to find a good and reliable cleaner, believe me once you find one, you dont let them go. Im still having my cleaner coming in but I am not home when she does. For as long as i can continue working and she wants to continue working she is welcome

☹️☹️  If I really valued my cleaner as a human being I wouldn’t want them leaving their home for non-essential cleaning of my house.
