A bit more info from Asda re online shopping, (posted on Twitter this afternoon)
"The government has identified a number of people who are extremely vulnerable during this time. They have now shared this information with us and we’ll be doing all we can to make sure these customers get what they need while they stay safe at home. We will provide them with a free Asda Priority Pass, which gives them access to new home delivery slots, the option to book a recurring delivery slot for peace of mind, and free delivery. We have begun reaching out to these customers to let them know what to do next."

Thanks for that - that's more than generous of them. I'm very happy to pay for my delivery, but a recurring slot would be a real weight off.Miró said:A bit more info from Asda re online shopping, (posted on Twitter this afternoon)

I'm really going to remember the companies that came up trumps with these offers of help at this difficult time.6 -
Where's this letter from Boris supposedly coming in this last week ?
We've had nowt at our house !6 -
Just had my lovely boy crying on my shoulder because he misses his girlfriend so much. He is 19, was so happy at Uni studying and enjoying life with his girl and all his friends, and his whole world has been turned on its head. There is nothing I can say to him except I am here for him and we have to help each other through this.
As for the delivery slots, when we registered I think we ticked that DS had family and friends to help so I wonder if that moves him down the priority list. In my opinion the whole household should be protected so that none of us have to go out. We live in a rural area with very few supermarkets so the local Lidl is always busy, and it just feels like too much of a risk to go there at the moment.5 -
Absolutely...I agree with every point you make. I was happy to pay for delivery too, that is very generous of them and the recurring slot is very reassuring!BooJewels said:

I've had an email from Asda giving me a priority pass! It will hopefully mean I won't have to try to get a slot at 12.30 in the morning, like the last one I managed to nab. Our two daughters are self isolating, my dad's in his eighties and has chronic health conditions, and we're no spring chickens with health issues of our own. I only go out to see to my dad every other day, and I have been staying home to keep everyone safe.
Today, I planted some freesia bulbs that we got a few weeks ago and pulled yet more couch grass out from between the primulas. Wicked stuff couch grass 😣
Stay safe everyone.2026 Fashion on the ration

You are welcome, Miro. Not sure how it will work yet, but I had registered on gov.uk for Dad and myself as his carer, so that must be how Asda got my details and matched them with my address and email. I looked on the website for new bookings and there were quite a few 'paid' slots with a line through them, so not sure if they are the priority offers. Time will tell. Five million has supposedly been spent sending it to every household but lots of us aren't getting it.
What's going wrong ?3 -
The postal service are swamped with stuff - those of them that are still working and not ill or isolating. They really didn't need a letter for every household to add to it....my aunty hasn't had any mail delivered for a week and some other areas are the same. Shops are shut so people are ordering stuff online and post offices are still open so items from the likes of ebay can still be posted (guilty as charged, I couldn't find the spare lawnmower blades).
