Anyone trying to get a delivery slot on Tesco, I wouldn't worry too much because I have one booked for Thursday, but nearly everything on my list is becoming unavailable. I've got a long list of other things to replace the missing items and that list shrinks by the day. Looks like the only things I can rely on are sweet things, hardly essential, and freezer bags!6

Mr S sent me an email to say as I am over 70 they had delivery slots available for me. I have done quite a big order for Thursday but how much of it actually comes is anybody's guess. No delivery charge either. All that clutter used to be money4

That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.

Can anyone tell me, how does a supermarket know if someone is over 70 or has health problems? I can see on the Tesco site it says put it in the delivery instructions box if you are self-isolating but that's no use to someone who can't get a slot in the first place.6

I did finally get an Asda order placed for delivery on Monday (which is better, as my husband will be out getting his chemo, so I can get it all squared away and cleaned up whilst he's out), only because I needed to get up early for the loo, so decided to look at it again, just in case. I think the IT boffins overnight must have made some changes as the card verification stage was different and this was where I was getting snagged up in my multiple attempts to pay [for hours] yesterday.
I'd been asked about the payment showing in pending payments - as they don't actually take payment until they deliver - but it does now show a 1p payment in pending payments in my banking app - I'd forgotten that Asda do that.
I'd had a conversation with Asda recently, both by phone and in store, about them not taking gift card payments for on-line shops (I'd been sent a full one to help us out when my husband was in hospital and then couldn't use it) and it looks like you must now be able to use them, as they show in the balance column for payments in the confirmation e-mail. There was also an opportunity to buy gift cards too during checkout, so this might be a useful payment method if you're sending someone to do shopping for you - cuts down on the handling of cash or handing over of bank cards.6 -

I also have regular deliverys, from Asda. My delivery pass ran out with my last delivery which was about a week before the crisis.
I logged on, paid for my annual delivery pass and input my order. OK so far. Then it refused to take payment for my delivery! It gets screwed up when it's going through Halifax Secure. Phoned Halifax, twice, but they insist it's not their end that is the problem.
Can't get through to Asda for love nor money. I've got a recurring weekly slot, but if I can't pay by Sat night then I guess I don't get my delivery.
Trouble is we're confined to the house so can't go to the shop to sort it out. We're Ok for food at the moment, and I did get an Iceland delivery, but I'm hoping that Asda manage to get the payment system sorted out in the not too distant future.
Having said all that I think all the workers in the Supermarkets deserve a gold medal. Trying to cope with the kind of demand that's being made on them must be nigh on impossible.
Let's keep positive everyone. XXI Believe.....
