  • Hello everyone

hope you are all in good spirits.  Yes Mother's Day was rather different this year, but never mind we can have a gathering of the clans when it's over.  In the meantime I pampered myself, cooked a nice dinner and opened a bottle of wine whilst enjoying the film "Beaches". Bit of a weepy but I enjoyed it.

Candy......Thanks for the recommendation for Self Made  - I'll add it to my list.

I have decided to ration my myself on all the media coronavirus coverage.  Just a quick catch up with the headlines and the PMs daily briefing is more than enough for me.  The media outlets really do seem to be making a meal out of it.

I'm enjoying the nice spell of weather, I'm lucky I have a garden so am making the most of it. Staying busy, yesterday tackled outstanding paperwork and then did some weeding in the garden.  More of the same today.

We can do this.  Stay happy.

We really got into gardening mode yesterday, but unfortunately the brown bins were quickly filled. They're out for collection, but no sign of the bin men yet. I'm wondering if collection has been cancelled.

I'd like to continue with some cutting back today, as well as the dreaded job of pruning the roses - namely wrecking them in my case.

Sorry you are struggling with aches and pains.  I'm not that great either at the moment but my bath this morning definitely helped.  I've booked a massage for Tuesday next week, in the meantime I'm going to try some yoga and a walk later.....only 10 minutes or so but better than nothing.

Made a start sorting out some cupboards this  morning.   Slow work because I need a rest every so often.  Never mind, little and often.  Part of my new "Tiny Daily Habits" plan to better myself. 😂

Thanks for the film recommendation.  I noticed Lost Girl on Netflix.  I'll give it a whirl.  Last night I watched Red Joan.  Enjoyed it.  Apparently based on a true story.  Quite thought provoking.

I am deliberately looking at more challenging films, documentaries etc.  Stuff that makes me use my brain and think.  Need to keep the old grey matter in good order. 😂
I watched Red Joan as well, it was surprisingly good

  • Well I am better now, I have three weeks of doing not a lot though]
But I am going to focus on something each day.  Cleaning windows, washing curtains, other stuff that i barely ever do.  I feel totally done with sitting in front of the tele now

Just about hauling myself out of Depressed Mode and have spent today doing what I usually do for Big Issues in my life - ie make sure my paperwork is organised and I can lay my hands on everything in that respect easily. Tomorrow is going to be Garden Day and first priority is planting everything that needs planting. Day after Catch up with Housework day and then I'll have to work out a suitable daily routine subsequently of my "one bit of exercise" being a walk or, if the weather is too bad for it, then YouTube dance video. Must try and get in a Calming Session every day too (bit of yoga/meditation/whatever).

Fortunately, I'd been checking out "quiet little walks" nearby for months now and I can find ones where I'll encounter few (if any) people - assuming no-one else also has their eyes on them.

  • Good on you @MoneySeeker1 - it is so hard to pull ourselves out of depression -awesome for organising a routine etc
I have took spirit from your post and for the first time in nearly three weeks, I have got PROPERLY dressed and even done my hair and make up.
I have been living in PJs.
Really not good for my mindset
I have been off work two weeks poorly,  and now there is another three weeks of being at home so boredom did start setting in for me

But I too have got my head in to a routine of a bit of normality, exerciser, do something proactive like clean the windows or something - cook a healthy meal for OH who is a key worker

well it was slight change of plan today - as I thought "There is one major bit of paperwork that needs doing in current circumstances - just in case".

So I wrote out a letter detailing clearly what provisions I have made for disposing of my physical assets (ie my house) on the one hand and a scheme I came up with/am proud of on the other hand and dropped it off through the door of someone I don't know that well, but know they are a trustworthy/responsible sort of person basically when I went out for my one bit of exercise today (ie a countryish walk). I told them in the letter that this Will was made out several years ago and where it's lodged and felt "Well I've done my best to tidy up loose ends re what happens to those things after I've gone - if I land up being one of the ones to die with this".

Sounds morbid I guess - but I guess it amounts to Swedish Death Cleaning. Plus I can see the funny side even of that - as there are going to be some very astonished people indeed that are going to have to "eat their words" about me bigtime if/when it comes out what I've done After the Event "if". They can "make their apologies" to me via a medium - if they can find one #wryface.
