That's great @lhollingworth89 might be a lot easier in England than up here 😊Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0

@KelBelle88 bluestone have different affordability calculators , given cost of living crisis plus higher interest rate borrowing their thresholds are higher. We will have to pay of our car finance as a condition of our mortgage which we are fine with but my MA advised bluestone underwriters have their own cost of living calculations xx1

@KelBelle88 overthinking it, they just have to look into consistency of the bonus, assuming you're trying to use that as part of affordability. Be guided by your broker as they know the ins and outs of your circumstances and how they presented you to Bluestone.Thank you @MovingForwards ! Our broker said this evening that they’ve said they will have a decision for us by close of business on 30th May. 😬😬 stressful weekend ahead haha! xx1 -

New here on the forum, but just wanted to add to a couple of comments others have made about ‘getting there in the end’ with Bluestone, in the hope that it will help to reassure people.feelinghopefull2022 said:We finally completed today! Got AIP on 7th January, offer on 7th February, completed on 17th May.Getting the mortgage was the easy bit although Bluestone were a pain right at end demanding loads of forms from my parents (we were buying the house from them), but we got there in the end!Similarly, it took us 13 weeks from when we submitted our full application (we’d had our DIP initially about a month before) to when we completed. The longest wait was during the underwriting - was very stressful not hearing anything for 2hat seemed like an eternity. However, mid-way during the underwriting we lost our buyers, which meant we lost the house we wanted to buy, and so we had to start selling our house again and looking for a different house to buy. This also meant that we had to submit new information to Bluestone and request a slightly different mortgage amount and our MA had to explain what had happened. But in the end it all worked out fine. The pre-completion phone call was quick and went smoothly. Our solicitor requested for the funds to be sent over 24 hours before the day we were due to move, and in fact she received them 48 hours before.
Bluestone take longer than most lenders, but they process applications on a case-by-case basis. We simply had to be patient and fortunately we had a brilliant MA who could keep us updated - Bluestone run a checklist of the stages they are up to with each application which the MA can see on their portal. We have also spoken to Bluestone directly on a few occasions and have found them to be courteous and helpful each time.
We have now been in our ‘new home’ several weeks and the tension and anxiety of the mortgage application process seems far behind us now - but it was all worth it.So, hang on in there - if you feel fraught with nerves, speak to your MA who should be able to get a sense of there things are up to.1
