Bluestone Mortgages

I’ve been following this thread for a while now and wanted to give some insight in to our journey to being homeowners.
Full application went in 22/4 then it went to the case handlers (the longest part of the process and including a bank holiday weekend) by the 4th of May it was with the underwriter who came back with a request for a couple of documents and a few minor questions within 24 hours.
They instructed the valuation on the 12th, done on the 18th, offer 21st (this was the Friday) . Offer was with solicitor on the Monday and we got the keys to our new house on the 4th of June. Hang in there guys, they do come through in the end. Our broker was fantastic and made sure that we submitted what felt like a million documents in at the start so that in his words “we don’t lose 2 or 3 days each time going back and forth”. To be fair on bluestone, we could have moved quicker at the valuation phase and also had a bit of a delay getting a couple of bits of paperwork at the latter stages that potentially held up the process by a few days. We are also in Scotland and not part of a chain so that accounts for getting the keys so quickly. I just wanted to let you know that it does happen for people and it will happen for you. I got myself so stressed during the process and was prepared for a long list of document requests and delays but really we got the offer weeks quicker than I had been expecting and with barely any additional queries. It sounds so cheesy but I feel like my dream has come true sitting here now. Good luck to everyone, I know how you feel, you will get there.

Why so long when its only the 14th and you applied so long ago? I'm so confused why some people are getting decisions so quickly and others are waiting so long.Foreverwaiting123 said:I’ve had an update. My decision will be made by end of the month. Fingers crossed 🤞 it’s an offer
