Cosy2020 I’m sure I’ve seen others progressing but not had credit search yet.
It’s a first time mortgage for us so not sure what’s normal 🤷‍♀️
Foreverwaiting123 That’s one of our worries too, getting the offer and it taking so long we won’t be able to complete in time.

I can't see me having an answer for my dads mortgage company by the end of June. He has been given an extension until then to see if I can get a mortgage but reading some of your timescales I doubt I will have any info either way, quite stressful now. We have been on this mortgage seeking rollercoaster since January and I am so ready to get off!

I feel your pain it’s such a a long process but hang in three it will happen and when it does it’s honestly the best feeling ever.
  • @Kb21 the reason I’m not hounding the solicitor is I haven’t got my mortgage offer so will I not just look silly 🙃 I also don’t want to ring estate agents and remind seller I have no offer. But if I actually get my offer everyone is going to get a million calls

Hi, so the condition in our mortgage offer was that all debts are paid off on completion. Which is fine, but Bluestone have stated that this must be done by solicitor and not us. Solicitor have said that they won't pay off our unsecured debt and that our mortgage offer needs to be re-worded. The equity from our sale was clearing these debts. Approx £20k so can't get that from anywhere. Has anyone come across anything similar?

Does all debts include finance such as car finance or just debts.

I have heard of this before someone on this thread had some Phone bills that bluestones said would need paying in full. Is this going to be a problem for you? Is it a large sum? Mayb they mean your solicitor needs to have the proof? Your solicitor can’t pay it off as per data protection

That’s worrying - we don’t have any spare cash to pay our debts off before the mortgage is paid out. We will once we’re moved in and our affordability is fine... one more thing for me to worry about haha

Don’t think it’s everyone’s condition we didn’t have it... although other than phone contracts no debt.
dont stress just yet  think they work on individual basis

I hope so - I just want to have an update soon. We’re buying a new build and they’re progressing really well with the build. I’ve fallen in love with the house, made friends with our new neighbours and have started looking at things for the house. I keep trying to stop myself but everyone else is telling me I need to prep for the house but I don’t want to unless we know we’ve got the offer. Not much else to do but wait, but it’s bloody tough waiting isn’t it!
