  • Wow very hi grid voltage, 253v is the upper limit. It won't do any harm to email Phil at infinity aswell, installersupport@infinityinnovations.co.uk and let them know, you are having problems.
"Thank you for contacting our Installer Support, a member of our team will look over your email and contact you shortly.

  • If you have very high grid voltage ( that is not being generated by your own inverters- and it should not be) then get in touch with your DNO. They are obliged to check and bring it into spec.
For me they changed the tapping on their main transformer at the sub station after looking at my readings ( it does vary a fair bit but should always be in spec) and checking at other local properties/phases.
Spec is 230+10% to 230-6% at all times.

Im after some help on my brother in laws 3.6kw lux hybrid inverter. Today I've been commissioning 5 new Easyway univ5200 batteries I have been using. The batteries use pylontech Comms, with pins 4&5 from battery end being swapped at inverter end to pins 3&4 (pin 5 battery becomes pin 3 inverter). Everything on the battery stack works fine, all batteries go to standby and I can see each battery details through the master battery BMS, as I do with my set up. Any tricks of the trade to get "pylon" batteries to talk to the hybrid inverter? I have done the usual of turn inverter off waiting 5 mins then turn back on. As my set up worked first time, is there a sequence for turning things off and on again? Any help / info greatly received. I've also gone back to battery team in china.
Reconnected uhomes and everything works fine.

So I've managed to work out what is happening and solved the issue. My ACS has red dip switches (where the CT clamps and battery Comms are) and the hybrid has blue dips switches. The different colour dips have a different battery Comms protocol. I've attached the protocol, with the blue dips, pins4&5 are the same colour at battery and inverter end. Red dips pin3 at the inverter end becomes pin5 at the battery end. The CAN L swaps over. This may help you if you are getting battery Comms issues if you are trying to add new batteries (I know pylontech have swapped their protocol).

  • Isn't standardisation and consistency wonderful......
  • @chainreaction this has come back from China... makes some sort of sense.  I just need to check howm much electricity is actually being used to see if it is just the display that is confusing.

Just giving a heads up to those wanting an easy solution to add more solar to their existing set up. I have 2 micro inverters which have worked perfectly since they have been installed. With an ASHP on the cards I'm upgrading my systems and to get what I want, the DNO will only allow <17kw inverter power on my single phase. So I'm adding a squirrel pod to my existing squirrel pod and a 3.6kw hybrid, if I keep the micro inverters they take me over the 17kw limit.

Both the SUN500G (600w, 2 MPPT inputs) in use since Dec 2021 and the newer Hoymiles HMS2000-4T (2000w, 4 MPPT inputs) in use since June this year have G98 compliance accreditation and are "plug and play", they came with plugs to literally plug straight into the mains. I have removed these and wired them into my house system via fused spur switches. The DTU Comms unit for the Hoymiles gives access to a lot of info for the inverter will be included.
The SUN500G does not have data info, so I installed a simple power meter on the output just for my own sanity to check it was doing what it should, this little meter will be included. It's likely these inverters will be available in a month or so time. There are very well priced solar panels on the web, I've got mine through city plumbing 420w-435w a panel for just over £50 a panel.
My 3.16kwp system with these 2 micro inverters and roof mounting etc will have cost me around £840.

    SUN500G + simple power meter - £20

    Hoymiles HMS2000-4T + WiFi lite DTU (cost £325 in June) - £150.

Happy to provide more info, screenshots, photos to those interested, drop me a line.

Because I'm having an air source heat pump installed soon I will have to find a new way to house my 8 pylontech 2000's. I currently have them on their side (no brackets) along the bottom of the airing cupboard floor but some of this space will be needed for the new hot water tank.
There will be space in the airing cupboard to stack them using brackets but 8 batteries is a lot of weight so I wondered if I could make two stacks of four instead and use a long cable to join them.
Would this be OK - or can anyone suggest an alternative please?
