I'm having a lot of fun (not!) with my system at the minute. The red battery icon was showing on my app so I checked and found a 'Batt Com Fault' message on the inverter. I had installed two batteries a few months ago (total 6) and they had been working OK since then.I'd just bought another two batteries but they hadn't arrived when this happened. I contacted Pylontech and they asked for lots of info - which I duly provided- and they said that two of my batteries (the last two to be installed had been produced 2 months apart and I had connected them the opposite way to what they should be. I rectified this but it made no difference so we are now looking at the battery to inverter cable. Apparently, the pin connections should have been changed when I introduced new batteries. I have two new cables but neither of them have the right pin connections. I now have to fill in a form that wants a LOT of info. I've asked if they can supply me with a suitable cable to try or point me to where I can get one but they haven't replied yet. In the meantime I've connected the two new batteries to see if a new master battery would do the trick - no joy there.I have the test kit from Benallen and used it a couple of times about two years ago. I can get as far as choosing the second button from the fifth option and choosing the Com number but then It keeps telling me that the port doesn't exist. Ben sent a messaage explaining where to find the correct Com port number. I've done that and it's still not playing ball.I need a holiday!0

Those cables tend to be expensive for what they are. Often about £30 !! They are nothing special (connectors cable) but NOT all pin to all pin variety. Make sure you do not buy one of those.I think I gave you a link earlier in the thread. A search on Google will give you several choices including length you may need. There is at the moment on for sale cheaply at https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/196117174904?chn=ps&_ul=GB&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=196117174904&targetid=2361039923645&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=1006981&poi=&campaignid=21697381820&mkgroupid=170109506289&rlsatarget=pla-2361039923645&abcId=10027101&merchantid=6995734&gad_source=4&gclid=Cj0KCQjw3vO3BhCqARIsAEWblcDNcpXnuH5iJJADOcDM8FWoYu2f47nVYIkJvJuAnSLrpdp4b--xdpYaAm9BEALw_wcB( no recommendation!)Phew, glad I did not type in that!!Note Commonly these types of cables sold for a few pounds for general use but as soon as you need one for "solar"......When I purchased a few month ago it was just as cheap to buy a set of cables for Pylons as the single cable!EDIT: From memory I think my cables came from Bimble solar but I notice Voltacon are selling them too at the moment ( as well as others).1

Thank you for that link. I've sent the seller a message and the diagram of pins that Pylontech sent me and asked if he has one.

Think it's something called golden week in china so people's taking holiday, I was chatting to someone last night who was helping me with one of my batteries and he said he would get something sent out to me after the holiday.6kwp solar (23x265w sharp) south facing, Solaredge 6kw inverter installed Dec 2016. 2xLux 3.6kw ACS paralleled with 10x Easyway UNIV5200's 5.2kWh- installed March 2025. 1xLux 3.6kw hybrid with 3.15kwp solar south/south-west with 5x Easyway UNIV5200's installed March 2025. Looking for some advice here, please. I have solar panels, a Lux 3.6kW hybrid inverter and 5 x Uhome 2.4kW batteries, which are set to grid charge fully overnight and discharge fully before the end of the day. I get paid more for exports than I pay for night rate imports so it is to my advantage to get the batteries fully charged by 5.30am and then do a full discharge before 11.30pm.
Recently my overnight charge has been arriving at somewhere around 92% SOC and no more than that (circa 54.5V battery voltage). In the evening when I discharge down to 10% and the batteries cut out, the SOC can drop down to perhaps 6% over the course of the next few minutes. On occasion this has even triggered the forced grid charge to get back up to 10% SOC.
All other charging and discharging throught the day seems to be normal, no excessive loss of charge from what i can see. On a morning the batteries might actually get up to 100% with solar charging.
My question is, what do we think might be happening here, please? Are my batteries going out of balance when charging and discharging at 100% power rate?0 -
Can anyone help me please I have the lux 5kw inverter and have 2 greenlinx 3.6kw batteries and my discharge current limit is set to 655. If I change this number will I get any benefits? Any advice would be appreciated please0

The actual inverter charge / discharge is only 70a, so changing that figure will make no difference to you.West central Scotland

Wow very hi grid voltage, 253v is the upper limit. It won't do any harm to email Phil at infinity aswell, installersupport@infinityinnovations.co.uk and let them know, you are having problems.6kwp solar (23x265w sharp) south facing, Solaredge 6kw inverter installed Dec 2016. 2xLux 3.6kw ACS paralleled with 10x Easyway UNIV5200's 5.2kWh- installed March 2025. 1xLux 3.6kw hybrid with 3.15kwp solar south/south-west with 5x Easyway UNIV5200's installed March 2025.
