Lux ac battery controller

So not really a lux issue, but looking to the future and potentially exporting power for cash, I contacted northern powergrid my DNO to have a conversation with them about what I need. So it transpires the company who fitted my solar in Dec 2016 never registered it with them (they no longer exist), in addition my EV charger fitted in 2019 by EDF energy was also not registered with the DNO! So now getting them registered and the first hurdle for the EV charger is they have asked what is the maximum demand at the property. I asked them for a definition which they said they would send, not yet received nor is their one on their website, nor is their one on the ENA website (Energy Networks Association). So I listed all appliances over 1kw, and they came back and said I need a 3 phase supply !!!! Basically every appliance we have is on and requiring electric. So I've gone back to them and given them the "actual" maximum demand seen this year using the lux info. Which is well below the 80A fuse limit for our house, also note many DNOs are now setting 80A as max fuse rating for single phase supply, saying an 80 A fuse is capable of withstanding 100A for a 4 hour period. It will be interesting what they say about my solar and what I can export.6kwp solar (23x265w sharp) south facing, Solaredge 6kw inverter installed Dec 2016. 2xLux 3.6kw ACS paralleled with 10x Easyway UNIV5200's 5.2kWh- installed March 2025. 1xLux 3.6kw hybrid with 3.15kwp solar south/south-west with 5x Easyway UNIV5200's installed March 2025. That fits my experience. I asked for an upgrade from 60 to 100A but they would only fit an 80A. Not really a problem, for export, because the G99 maximum of 17kW per phase is about 80A.

The G99 experience is a bit further down the line for me so may pull on your knowledge if you've been through the process.Netexporter said:also note many DNOs are now setting 80A as max fuse rating for single phase supplyThat fits my experience. i have single phase and a 100A and seems to be fine, Im based in the very rural Remote northwest Scottish highlands ! I have the basic g98 for the 3.6 i can export but as my lux cant do more than that its not a problem

I haven't applied for G99, yet. I just thought I'd get that duck in a row, just to rule out any cable capacity problems before I went any further.chainreaction said:

The advice is now not to fit 100A only 80A, they won't derate anyone unless they need to carry out works at a property where 100A is fitted, if so they will change the fuse to 80A.Starfrog said:i have single phase and a 100A and seems to be fine, Im based in the very rural Remote northwest Scottish highlands ! Which fogstar batteries have you installed?piman72 said:Finally got my Fogstar rack batteries up and running, so far so good!
I've got two remaining UHome 2400 looking for a good home, any takers before I delve into the murky world of ebay?
'Big Connectors', will come with one pair of battery cables (and an inverter connection +ve and -ve).1 -
Have they made it into the loft? 🙂piman72 said:

I was unlooped a couple of years ago due to impending ev charger fitment and they fitted a 125a line and 100a fuse.
I couldn't run the house the way I do with an 80a limit.West central Scotland

So I now have 4 x new uhomes (circa 2022 vintage, small connections) and 1x old uhome 2400lfps. This morning from midnight to 05.30 I set the batteries to not charge or discharge. The SOC slowly dropped from 42% to 31%. Anyone solved this issue? This certainly didn't happen with my 4 stack of old batteries, they would hardly change SOC in similar circumstances.6kwp solar (23x265w sharp) south facing, Solaredge 6kw inverter installed Dec 2016. 2xLux 3.6kw ACS paralleled with 10x Easyway UNIV5200's 5.2kWh- installed March 2025. 1xLux 3.6kw hybrid with 3.15kwp solar south/south-west with 5x Easyway UNIV5200's installed March 2025.
