  • Updating the firmware is pretty easy once you have the kit, probably 3 minutes for each battery but as you say you need your installer to play ball

Is it a proprietary cable or something off the shelf? I guess you need your installer to send you the firmware files anyway... I'd like to get mine up to date but I can't imagine the installers wanting to send stuff out unless you're having issues

  • Mine wasn't like that kit at all !!
So I have the file needed for the update (for older battery types of my vintage anything installed pre Jan 21) and the kit, however 1 small problem, the Canbus connector from the tool to plug into your battery Comms connections has broken off, the wires are very thin and delicate and they broke after my final battery had been updated. If anyone knows (IT literate which I'm not) which colours (2 off) should be connected I can do so and then send out the equipment. I can create a procedure aswell to help, the one infinity sent out was useless. Aslong as the kit gets back to me and I can help others then great. There are obvious health warnings from doing this. I can post a picture if needed of the bit that's broken.

My batteries were installed Sep 2021 but I'm pretty sure they're the larger connector type so not sure which battery version they are. I have 3 second hand batteries of a similar age coming this week so I'm anticipating drama with mismatched firmware and/or connector types...

I can't help with the wiring I'm afraid, I'm sure I've seen a diagram showing which pin the CAN+ and CAN- are meant to be connected to but I can't find it right now.

Was just thinking - the default WiFi network on my existing batteries starts USR. I tried to use the newer UHome app at one point and it wouldn't recognise them, it seemed to be expecting network names starting ESP. Is that a way to tell the two generations apart I wonder?

the uhome app now gives buttons for use on Wi-Fi settings. You still won’t get batteries seen but they will get online

  • The new batteries I have just received used ESP, my old batteries USR. The latest uhome app allows both, but I could never get my old ones onto the uhome app. Infinity said the old ones can't be registered on the uhome app, hence new battery as master via ESP, then I could see all of the stack on the app. Regards joint broken I'll post a picture

I think the 2 wires that have been paired back are the 2 wires that connect into the chock block on the USBCAN, I think I thought that when they broke off, so paired then back, then asked infinity but got no reply
