Do you find you can stay locally connected for a reasonable period of time? Even if I turn off mobile data and "forget" my normal WiFi, it'll generally only stay connected to the dongle for a few seconds before it gives up (if I'm quick, usually long enough for me to turn AC charge on or off and that's about it)
No issues on my android phone, it'll just stay connected until I choose a different WiFi network.

It might complain or give a warning of 'limited connectivity' but hay-ho, it is what it is hahaha
  • I have had the same issues with using an iPhone, the recommendation was use an Android phone.. which I don't have

I hope we can agree that any local connect system that needs the user to jump through this many phone configuration hoops is suboptimal 🙂

Absolutely but then maybe it is not designed for the end user ? A lot in there that can go wrong. It’s maybe designed for the laptop and a technician.

I'd consider buying a cheap android phone on ebay & using it to connect locally to the Lux during these outages rather than persevering with an iPhone.

I got a sparky to install a new consumer unit with its own breaker etc. and had him flip the central heating boiler, lounge ringmain (which includes the tele) the supply for the Internet router/wireless directly on to it.  It works flawlessly and has kicked in a few times when necessary.
    .
I then set up the Lux to have a min battery charge setting of 12% when on grid and 8% when off grid.
