His is a hardware based solution. The lux one is software based firmware update and free of charge. Cynic in me suggests that this is why he's not upgrading our firmwares...

Good morning is anyone on here able to supply an out of the box solution for Octolux i.e. configured hardware installed software with instructions?  Alternatively  anyone willing to guide me through purchase of hardware and installation / config ?
    TIA
not that i've seen unfortunately. if you are willing to risk a bit on a raspberry pi, and volunteer documenting your jouney, you can definitely find help on these boards and the octolux author (super helpful guy). I can help where possible too!

I'd love to be proven wrong. but i haven't heard anyone on this thread talk about a successful upgrade and trying out octopus. i didn't have luck getting an upgrade either - was told that i was mistaken about the upgrade and needed this other product to leverage octopus rates.

I stopped chasing as i use octolux, so really don't want to deal with Jake.

Hi Mick, do you have a Windows pc/laptop ?
The intention was for Octolux to be run on a Raspberry pi but I run it on a Windows laptop and it works just fine.

Hi I have jumped in the deep end and trying to get Octolux configured on a Pi... deep end as I have NEVER used Linux before so it is all very new.  Thanks to chamelion and  EVandPV for their help so far.. I wonder is we should have yet another new thread re OCTOLUX so we can share any useful information we have all gathered.  I think my issue is as above no Linux knowledge.. I was able to set it up easily with EVandPV guide to using windows... unfortunately I fancy having it running on a very small box I can just leave in the garage hence the Pi...... (I had already ordered it before the Windows option)
    TIA

After looking at some recent price data I maybe wasting my time and money pursuing this.. the simple solution of Octopus "go" and charging batteries at 5p a unit overnight in winter  is probably about as good as Agile, discuss ?
