pete congratulations you have done so well for yourself and do you know how i know that, because u keep telling everyone u numpty.
lesley1960 check ur private mail........ a very sensible lady indeed....... non judgemental but very inteligent unlike sturll or pete the t**t
You really are an arrogant selfish little man. How do you know i dont travel First Class?
All we both know is that you are a very bitter and extremely uneducated oxygen thief.
I can understand why BAA are being a bight shady in regards to your pension. Ill bet they feel ripped off paying you £6 per hour. Hell the DSS would feel hard done by paying you Job Seekers allowance!
Must be awkward for you having to come on here and defend yourself to 99% of the posters on here who despise your kind. Ill bet your boyfriend has looked over your shoulder more than once
Still, the support you have across the general public is great.

We too are flying out from LHR on the 27th December 2007 so i went to the TGWU (union) site and called their secretary chap direct...his mobile's on there..!
Brendan Gold said the decision was in and wouldn't say much else but inferred that they would strike however they did have another route available to them whatever that meant...
So, could be close....should be in the UK papers tomorrow...

I stumbled across the news this evening as my faince will be flying out from the States to spend Christmas with us, however she won't be able to come if the strike action will affect her flights home (2nd January). Is it a possibility that the strikes could coincide / go one over that time?
Frankly - I'm disgusted with the union on two levels. Firstly, deliberately and willfully balloting for strike action during a period that will destroy Christmas and New Years for so many famillies (would it makes such an incredible difference if the strikes were conducted a week or so later OUTSIDE of the one time of year people travel to be with lvevd ones?). Secondly, if the above is true and the result is in, for not making it known IMMEDIATELY to minimize the effect on those travelling - some people simply would have to cancel there trips if their return flight is to be affected, thus 7 days notice at such a delicate time is - frankly - ridiculous.
I'm also shocked and disgusted that as a Unite member working in a University, we've recieved no warning or notification of this - in an attempt to minimize problems caused to their own members!
One could easily construe such behaviour as self destructive. Common sense says the mopre effective strike is one that the majority general public backs, as they can offer support in a multitude of ways.
I've been a member of Unite (Amicus) for over 5 years now, but regret that on the back of this I shall be withdrawing and urging as many others as i can to do the same. The deal offered does not seem unfair, and frankly a cut above what many others have recieved0 -
Sorry the information posted regarded the Virgin Cabin CrewNo Matter what you do there will be critics.0

does that mean that they have told BAA they will strike or does that mean the members have voted for the strike?0 -

I'm sorry people have to loose their holiday - but they need to stop being so selfish - there are more important things at play here than their reschedulable holiday.WHAT ABOUT THESE PEOPLE THEY HAVE TO WORK DURING THE BANK HOLIDAYS AND NEED TO TRAVEL BY PLANE [AS WE ARE ON AN ISLAND] - I FORGOT TO MENTION - WE ARE SELF-EMPLOYED MUSICIANS AND NEED THE WORK OVER THIS PERIOD TO SAVE SOME MONEY FOR OUR 'PENSION'
WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE AREN'T IN AN UNION AND WORK VERY HARD [WITHOUT HAVING A PENSION] FOR THEIR FEW DAYS OFF?
JUST FIND OTHER TIMES TO 'CATCH' BUSINESS PEOPLE TO DO YOUR STRIKES... IT SEEMS LIKE THEY [UNION] JUST WAITS FOR THE FEW DAYS WHERE PEOPLE WANT TO GO AWAY... :sad:0 -
Well we fly next Thursday, 27th,I'm assuming as now that it's Friday they can't strike until next Friday (28th). So now after a month of worry we can finally relax and plan for our trip to America to attend my brother's wedding. What a relief! I hope everyone else who has trips planned can go on holiday. Although there are others in our party who have trips back planned for early January and who have important exams in the same week, so we're not out of the woods yet. At least I can now message my brother and tell him that his wedding won't be entirely ruined. Hope it goes well for the rest of you, Vicki xx0
