Seems there's a few of us travelling on the 27th then :-)

I wouldn't imagine they'd announce it very late, I mean why would they? I've seen a few websites that say the result is going to be announced tomorrow, I suppose no news is good news right?

I don't know about anyone else, but I've been sat here all day with this screen on refresh and not done a spot of work!
  • I have done exactly the same B.Inky!! Literally the whole day!

Why would they announce the result of the Virgin ballot and not the BAA one when they orginally said both results would be in today?

Its just a little bit unfair to keep us hanging on!

I know it's pure speculation, but there's not much else we can do at the moment- but at least the Virgin ones seem to be well into the new year, which ties in with what the union are supposed to have said about being mindful of people's Christmas and New Years plans. You would have thought that they'd announce them both at the same time though. It's the waiting I can't stand though, at least once they've announced it we can all get on and decide what we're doing...
  • I spoke to our tour opperator, about this possibilty that there maybe a strike, and quite rightly they said there is nothing they can do at this time, until something is announced, but I would just like to know what will be happening, so we can start to make plans.
  • They have until midnight... I am another one that is part of the 27th December Club. I am hoping we are in a good position. If it doesn't go through today, we should be fine. Even if it does, strikes may not happen til next year.

    Fingers crossed.
  • we are also flying 27th and the 10th of January with Virgin. How do you know if your flight will be affected? Also, is there a possibility that Virgin will come to some sort of negotiated pay increase before these strikes and therefore call off the strikes? Maybe just wishful thinking on my part.....having never been a union member, I am clueless to what happens here. Please enlighten me. Hope you all have a nice xmas!
  • I'm sure the Virgin Bosses will now be doing everything in their power to avert these strikes, as these will be the first strikes the company has ever had. Now is the time for some re-negotiaton talks before these actually go ahead.
  • I read nothing in the news about a YES vote. Only the evening standard has this : http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23428300-details/Airport%20staff%20threaten%20to%20disrupt%20holiday%20travellers%20in%20New%20Year%20strikes/article.do?expand=true#StartComments

If they dont announce strike action until tomorrow they have seven days which means the first day of strike can be the 28th. Or ?

    Ok.

Look at 1800 at https://www.virginatlantic.com there will be info.

Then, within the next 24hrs there will be a list of every flight effected and the contingency plans in place.

Virgin are currently advising passengers that ALL FLIGHTS ARE CURRENTLY RUNNING AS SCHEDULED.

    Hope this helps.
