I hope every single worker who strikes gets sacked.

Oh, and can anyone see the 'coincidential' avoidance of Virgins dates?

I would get banned if i expressed my true feelings toward these spineless pieces of s***

Why? Democracy at work. We may not like it or agree with it but for a lot of workers it is the last resort. And no I have nothing to do with BAA or the Union involved

Phew! close for us. We fly 29th December and return in the LGW on the 9th. Husband then flies out 11th Jan and back in on the 13th. God must be sitting our on shoulders. Although I appreciate the strike dates are not good for some :(

The strikes are 7/8 th Jan. There will still be a huge backlog of flights. I wouldnt rest easy just yet.

  • Should be ok Jenny i would say as the 7th strike runs from 06.00hrs on the 7th to 06.00hrs on the 8th, and you are not back until 9th, so safely over by then.....

yes I'm sure we'll be fine, even if we have a delay - cant exactly leave us out in Canada can they :D I was more worried about getting out there.

Is there still a chance though that they could be cancelled? Didn't this happen at the beginning of the year with BA? It was called off?

I am in the same boat, flying out to Orlando on the 29th Dec and due to fly back on the 18th Jan with Virgin. With this planned action coinciding with Virgins I can’t see us getting back on the 18th Jan. Not to bothered to be honest can’t think of a better place to be stuck than Orlando. Hope these dates don’t disrupt too many people. Also to Volmort the complete idiot hope you have a !!!! Christmas you complete and utter muppett.

yes there is nothing we can do now. Dates have been announced (although they may still resolve their disputes) so we'll just have to see how the situation is handled. The airports have enough time to implement contigency procedures.
  • getting stuck abroad sounds kind of appealing. i just miss the third strike by a few hours...

hopefully it will all be sorted out by the time the first or even second strike is due.

As a very frequent traveler for business/pleasure, but someone with no connection whatsoever to the BAA I'm backing the strike.
Pension rights are being deminished left, right and centre so well done to those who have made a stand.
Yes ! I am going to be inconvenienced by this, but I would do the same put in the same position !!

EDIT : And If you don't like what I put - TUFF !!
