GaleSF63 (above) has answered for me regarding items which don't last well.  Also I don't like long life milk - prefer fresh.  There's only so much stuff I can get in my freezer too.
Under normal circumstances (normal - remember that?) I often struggled to spend £40 every ten days or so.
Wow, that's impressively thrifty!  I definitely couldn't get my shopping under £40 a week.  I agree, long life milk is for emergencies only.

No problems with Cravendale milk, or the own label equivalents, here. Tastes exactly the same as ordinary milk but with a longer life. Nothing like long life milk, which tastes very different from ordinary milk.

Tesco have now made all their delivery slots £4.50, even the priority £2 ones.  That might tempt me back to Waitrose again for the free delivery but higher prices.  Have to say though that Tesco have been pretty much faultless. And better quality fruit and veg than Sainsbury too.

Has anyone found this problem, I can get a slot at my old address 10 minutes walk away, my friend can get a slot 5 minutes walk away. At least 50 slots available for both address, I get nothing at all, has been for days now. All address are in the same town, same postcode area.  I have previously been able to get a slot, as my friend has. I could get plenty of choice for click and collect, but have no car so not an option. I have phoned them and they tell me there is nothing they can do, but wait for a slot to show.
  • Have you contacted Asda?
    What did they say?

Three phone calls to asda, first one was told to use a different device to log on, second the same advice even though I said I had done that. Third call (pressing for a problem with delivered shopping) told there was nothing they could do unless I was on the government shield list, maybe my friend was (she isn't) and to wait for a slot to become available, which I had been checking for for at least 2 weeks now, seen nothing at all. I had a shop the 8th July as my last one before that no problem to get a slot when checking regular

Can you add another address? Just a slight variation of your address - add a line or miss one out out or spell something differently maybe? And see if it will give you any slots for that?

I tried setting up a new account the same problem. I tried a friend on the same road but a different postcode the same. I tried my neighbour the same. I just can't understand how 50 slots can be available for my town but not my road. The first friend, we have been letting each other know when slots are available, till now we have both been able to get a slot the same day.

"I could get plenty of choice for click and collect, but have no car so not an option".
I suppose click and collect shows slots because your address doesn't matter.
Has your friend tried putting your address in? If she can't get any slots either for your address, then at least you could tell ASDA that it is definitely an address problem  with them.

Is it saying no slots, or is it saying they won't deliver to you? I had that problem once with Waitrose - they'd managed to delete a small part of our postcode when they changed shops.

is there perhaps a local minicab or courier company that will do the click and collect for you? at a not too unreasonable cost that is.
