I've had the same email. Will be gutted if it closes, has been by far the best replacement since My Supermarket closed down. I've just happily donated via the gofundme page. Are we able to post a link on here or is that against the forum rules

I've just shared the fundraising Tweet from Trolley with Martin Lewis on Twitter.  Maybe we should share the fundraising link everywhere we can.  I use the app every time I go shopping!

  • I've seen that there is a potential replacement to My Supermarket  https://supermarketwizard.com/ where you can compare groceries across the different stores - including own brand
Has anybody joined this and got any feedback?  I really missed My Supermarket

I've given it a whirl.  First impressions are mixed - it's easy to search for products and the layout is good, but a lot of the comparisons are not like-for-like (e.g. when comparing a Walkers 6 pack of crisps, one of the comparisons was an own brand and another was a Walkers 12 pack).  It doesn't include Tesco Clubcard prices which means Tesco will always look very expensive on any comparison shop, when in reality it might be cheapest.  It's also missing some online supermarkets such as Ocado and Iceland.

It will be interesting to see how it develops over time.  At the moment I think Trolley is more useful.

"Trolley.co.uk's a great help to cut supermarket costs. So when it had struggles, we wanted to help, and hope the year's funding MSE's provided, will give the volunteer Trolley team time to get things in shape to thrive in future." – Martin Lewis, MoneySavingExpert.com founder

So, it was MSE who saved trolley in the end, along with the people that donated!

I see this thread going on for years now with dozens of pages. But yet nothing comes remotely close to what MySuperMarket was!

I am looking for a website that can show me my cheapest supermarket based on an entire shopping list not just a single item and there simply is no replacement for MySuperMarket. Why is this so difficult to replicate?

Because nobody’s found a way to monetise it. From a personal viewpoint, I find Trolley incredibly useful, and hope that Moneysupermarket finds it brings sufficient traffic to MSE to cover its relatively small operating costs. It’s the perfect fit.

It is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

I imagine MySupermarket would have been incredibly resource-intense to maintain.
