Good to know about an app.

I've used their website to find offers on branded products that I like to stock up on but found it out of date. Unfortunately, as an example, with Iceland I wasn't able to cross check on a website.

Better than nothing though and hopefully they're on the up. 😊
  • forgive my post if this is old news but i found a replacement for mysupermarket shopping site and thought id share.  Trolley.co.uk seems to do most of things its predecessor did including price change notifications.  seems pretty slick too.  I missed mysupermarket so I hope trolley does well and sticks around.

I find the Trolley.co.uk app is very good, love the barcode scanner in the top right hand corner, much easier than typing in the item, I used to love this function on mysupermarket. The app also covers much more stores than mysupermarket did so its good to check if what you are buying is cheaper elsewhere.  I now also get regular price update emails, at first I found it a bit strange that it told me an item had increased, but realise it is also good to know that an offer has finished, especially in the case of Asda who never give an end date for their offers.

The app may be okay but the website version isn't great. The 'sort and filter' button doesn't actually sort! I want price per unit and I can't get that.

That said, its better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

I used MySupermarket all the time but haven't got into the same habit with Trolley. Partly because I generally buy the same stuff from Lidl every week, and partially because I have so much food in storage I cannot actually access currently.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.

I’ve been using Trolley for several months now, and once you get used to it it’s actually better than MySupermarket.

It’s got better with time, and I’m happy with both the app and the website. It’s invaluable, and fills the gap left behind admirably.

Just hope it’s making enough money from click throughs to make it worthwhile continuing.

Also good that the Trolley email alerts now seem to be working. Although it sends alerts for price increases as well as decreases... it would be nice to make that configurable as I really only want to know when the price drops.

The other thing is I tend to find quite a bit of duplication - same product, same size, but listed separately for different retailers for some reason. Probably something to do with the way the data's retrieved or presented by the retailers, perhaps not easy to address this.

Oh and it would also be useful to have a view on the website and/or app where you can select a particular supermarket (e.g. if planning on doing a Morrison's shop) and see which of your saved items/favourites are currently on special offer there.

I have just downloaded the app and I'm very impressed. The only thing I miss from My Supermarket is being able to see a list of the top offers for each supermarket, unless this is possible and I haven't found it yet.
  • Is it just me, or is there no Lidl available?
