Oooo ... has anyone checked www.mysupermarket.co.uk lately? We’re currently upgrading mySupermarket In an effort to improve your shopping experience,
mySupermarket.com is down for maintenance.
We expect to be back up and running in a short time, so be sure to try again later. That's not the same message they had last time I looked. Are they just teasing us, or do you think they mean it?
Either way, I'm guessing nothing will come of it until the lockdown has passed. But if it's for real, it's something to look forward to!0 -

Either way, I'm guessing nothing will come of it until the lockdown has passed. But if it's for real, it's something to look forward to!Sorry to disappoint, but that message has not changed since at least 19th March: http://web.archive.org/web/20200319160059/https://mysupermarket.co.uk/
I think it is more likely that without anyone maintaining the back-end, something has broken and this is their standard message for when the website is unavailable.

Thanks - I've been using it for a while now, and it's simple and effective. Appreciate your time on this! Are you planning an app by any chance?drspa44 said:
I know it's been a while but I finally got around to improving the search on http://shelfscraper.co.uk, so 'beyond patties' now returns 'Beyond Burger Plant Based Patties 226G'. Another example is searching 'brown sugar' will still give you 'Dark Brown Sugar', but also 'Dark Brown Soft Sugar'.janet278 said:
I appreciate that - thanks.drspa44 said:
At the moment, searching works just on the text you type in as a single string. It has to be fully contained in the product name. As I say, this was just a project I've done at home and as there's no money involved, I have to be careful not to make the server requirements too costly. Intelligent searching is on the todo list.janet278 said:
Veggie/vegan food mainly, but now that I look for the specific item that I went to the shop for, I see it is correctly priced, so not much help to give it as an example now! Also the search has to be so product specific, can it be made less so? Eg. If I want to find Beyond Meat patties, if I type in just that, it finds nothing, if I type in Beyond Meat Plant Based Patties, it finds what I am looking for.drspa44 said:All of the words in the search query have to be there, otherwise 'cod liver oil' would also return cooking oil and fish cakes

Thanks again - that's really helpful!drspa44 said:
I'm not planning to create an app, as I don't see how it would make it any better. It's a lot of extra work, plus there are fees involved to submit apps to the Apple and Google app stores.Doc_N said:

If you use the 'Add to homescreen' option functionality in Chrome or Safari, you can create a shortcut with a custom icon, and it functions just like an app:https://www.howtogeek.com/196087/how-to-add-websites-to-the-home-screen-on-any-smartphone-or-tablet/

thought as much...............originally it said they were looking to sell the site by 30/4/20 but i see they've now revised this to 31/5/20 so i guess they're keen to try and secure a sale before winding it up...
i assume they've extended their deadline due to the Covid crisis but given how the world has changed in the last couple of months i guess it's not a good time to try and broker a deal!!!
having said that, with the growth in online grocery shopping during this lockdown, and given it's essentially an online grocery shopping comparison site, maybe there is scope for someone to make it work and be profitable??.........0 -

I wish someone would buy mysupermarket as it really was much better than all these alternatives, and the notification emails were fab.0
