I have a nasty feeling that it is the supermarkets themselves that are making it difficult.  I don't know about the other supermarkets but the week it closed some of Tesco's prices went up over 30%.  If we can't track these price increases they can do as they like!

I just opened my latest Lidl email and they've done a shopping basket comparison. I can't post a link to it but it's the first time I've noticed anything like that. Maybe they've been doing it for ages and I've just not noticed!

Thanks that's a great start, it's positive that there seems to be a database out there somewhere compiling all the live prices. I have to say Comparasaurus is more user friendly but I don't think development is ongoing given that the last app update was 2017(!) Keep up the good work, it doesn't seem that MSE are interested in capitalising on such a huge gap in the market :-(

Since the announcement about MySupermarket closing, I've been spending my free time working on a replacement. It is designed to be extremely basic so it can work on any phone without using much data (unlike MS). As it's just a website, there is nothing to install. Please let me know what you think.

Hopefully MySupermarket will come back in one way or another, but this might help in the meantime.

Tried posting a discussion on HUKD to share the site.
Unfortunately they deleted the discussion "as this is not something which we allow on hotukdeals"

Some of us appreciate your efforts though.
It's an excellent start - thanks drspa44.  Impressive!  As for HUKD, if they can't make money out of it they delete it.  Used to be a great website but now it's heavily moderated, heavily controlled and the only thing that matters is whether they make money out of the links.  MSE has to make money too, but I much prefer the lighter touch.  HUKD is now a horrible website.

Thanks for your kind comments and trying to spread the word :)

I've pretty much given up on posting things on hotukdeals. Either it's 'this retailer is not allowed at the moment' (e.g. ASDA), 'we do not allow deals like this' (topcashback bonuses) or 'we think this is self-promotion' (a free mouse mat from a company I have nothing to do with!).

Maybe if someone has the ear of Martin Lewis himself, a tweet from him would go miles, but I won't hold my breath! Also, might not be the best business move for him if he's in talks with Mysupermarket to take over their operations.

Reasons given for thread removal on HUKD
"Insufficient contact information and/or business address
Insufficient feedback readily available online (reviews etc)
Insufficient length of trading (we’d need to see them become more established)"

Doc_N commented above, we aren`t making any money on it.

The website currently has a message saying the following, hopefully it's a good sign?

    We’re currently upgrading mySupermarket

In an effort to improve your shopping experience,
    mySupermarket.com is down for maintenance.
We expect to be back up and running in a short time, so be sure to try again later.

wishful thinking......i doubt it means anything!
it had that prior to the 'goodbye'  message. i suspect they've just removed that message and the other one is just a holding page.
i do hope i'm wrong though!!
