Girishmistry said:Hi
I have purchased flights in February and travel insurance for a 14 day trip to Canada in August and the UK Gov web site states "The Foreign & Commonwealth Office currently advises British nationals against all but essential international travel to Canada".
I spoke to the travel agent who confirmed the outbound flight is still going ahead though the return journey has been changed by 2 days. The travel company state that i can have a credit note to use with 6/12 months
i have taken travel insurance company (Direct line) who are stating that the change of flight details makes no difference as its between me and the travel agent.
They now also state that because i can get a credit note that i would not be able to make a claim even though the UK gov web states not to travel.
When we arrive in Canada we have to isolate for 14 days and on return back home we have to isolate or 14 days currently.
has anyone had this experience ?

Direct line are correct in that you have been offered a voucher so there will be no insurance claim.

Hi.
A bit of a quandary with fulfilling the requirements of travel requirements to Cyprus on 27th August 202!
We booked these flights to visit the family in February this year - As we are potentially about to enter the Group 'B' countries for entry after August 1st I have been checking the requirements over and above the 'Cyprus Flight Pass' which follows on the 1st requirement:
" Passengers have to conduct, a test confirming negative PCR for Covid-19 during the last 72 hours before their travel to the Republic of Cyprus and possess a certificate which confirms negative PCR for Covid-19, issued from a certified laboratory"
I Have checked one Provider that charges £149 each test and is a kit posted to us with results available in 3 days - which with travel to airport and post would not leave time to have a valid test in time!
There is a slight override IF:
"4. Persons, in countries category B, where the authorities of these countries, duly substantiated and following an announcement by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Cyprus , are not in a position to offer Covid - 19 testing to those wishing to travel to Cyprus."
Question: Can we prove England[UK] are 'where the authorities of these countries,' 'are not in a position to offer Covid - 19 testing to those wishing to travel to Cyprus.'
and what does ' duly substantiated and following an announcement by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Cyprus '
Really mean?
There are roumers that we may be in category Group 'A' county by end of August - but too late for us!
Any ideas?

Hi all, hope you’re all well? Would welcome some advice if you’re able ....
- I booked a flight to Malaga (for August) & took out travel insurance; all before March 13th
- Single trip policy to Europe (including Spain and Lanzarote) for specific from & to dates
- It covers me if I’m unable to fly as a result of FCO advising against travel
- Malaga now cancelled & flight company now offering me refund or switch to alternative destination
- Considering Lanzarote if quarantine is dropped because FCO advising OK to fly there
- Lanzarote flights will be exact same dates as Malaga flights and holiday exact same from & to dates
Question is would I still be covered if FCO subsequently advises me not to travel to Lanzarote?I asked the insurance company. They said I would but didn’t sound 100%. If I had to claim then whilst my flights dates were the same, the geographical area was the same (if not safer at time of booking) the date booked would have moved from before March 13th to after March 13th (when the policy removed the FCO clause).
I know take the refund and stay in UK is the best option but any advice would be appreciated0 -
Guidance for Lanzarote has now changed.0

Hi guys, I have a quick question which someone might e able to answer.
I'm due to drive to the Netherlands at the end of August. However From the news, I can see that Belgium might be up next on the UK list like Spain. If I drive though Belgium to get to the Netherlands without stopping... Do I have to self Isolate when I get back to the UK if they put Belgium on the list?0 -

If you stay in your car all the way, then common sense says No.0 -
Hi everyone - I have a flight booked with British Airways on 1/9/20 to go ot the USA. This is my third booking as 2 previous flights were cancelled due to Covid 19 and they were cancelled well in advance by BA. With now under a month to go , BA have not cancelled my flight , nor can I get through to them. As us Brits cannot travel to USA because of the blanket ban from Europe , if the flight goes ahead ( flies empty) therefore not being cancelled - will I be entitled to a full refund? I was offerred a full refund before , but not so sure this time as flight status is showing as going ahead .What are my rights and how much notice does BA need to give you to notify you of a flight cancellation?Thanks0

Thanks Thrugelmir - I have read that cargo is transported - but for passengers , my query is will the flight be cancelled for us and if so what aout a full refund. BA told me yesterday that my flight is still scheduled to fly but could give me no indication if it was cancelled for passengers. It is all very stressful - guess I will have to wait it out.0
