We booked flights through lastminute.com from Edinburgh to Krakow - outward flight was with Easyjet and the return flight is with Ryanair. We received confirmation from Easyjjet that the outbound flight is cancelled and have requested full refund however on contacting Ryanair fpr returning flight we have been advised that the flight is not cancelled and cannot get refund. We are unsure how we will be able to use this flight as we will not be in Krakow at time of return flights. Lastminute.com advised to contact airline direct however no joy but due to us not being in Krakow at time of flight can we claim through credit card under section75 refund as I believe that if we try chargeback then the company can claw this back. I know one thing we will not be using Ryanair again as customer care service is non existent and looking for advice to legally get our money back.0

The fact that you won't be in Poland is of no interest or relevance to Ryanair, who are right to point out that if the flight goes ahead then you have no right to a refund as they're upholding their side of the bargain - you probably would have access to a refund if it was a package or even a combined return flight booking, but not when making separate flight bookings. The same will apply to any attempt to extract the money from your card company (s75 is unlikely to apply anyway when booking a flight indirectly via an agent), so unless you have travel insurance that would cover such unrecoverable losses then you'll need to write it off and put it down to experience....1

Hi, I work for the NHS in Scotland and have been working from home since lockdown. I had flights booked to France with Ryanair on 6th July for an 11 night holiday with family but at time of departure Scotland were still instructing returning travellers to self isolate. Senior management in my Health Board wouldn’t allow me to work from home for self isolation and wouldn’t allow 4 weeks leave so I was unable to travel, even though it seemed highly likely that this restriction would be lifted before our return (which happened 3 days after our departure date!) Do I have any redress.0

Hello all,
I have a holiday to Ecuador coming up in November - can't see it going ahead though... With that in mind, I booked the holiday via a company called G Adventures, this did not include flights which we booked ourselves. I imagine the holiday itself with G Adventures will be cancelled... I can't see the flights being cancelled though as it stands. Where do I stand on getting any sort of money back for flights? Would this be a case of speaking to the insurance company? I've trawled google and can't seem to find anyone else having a similar issue.

If the flight is cancelled then claim back from the airline.

Hi
I have purchased flights in February and travel insurance for a 14 day trip to Canada in August and the UK Gov web site states "The Foreign & Commonwealth Office currently advises British nationals against all but essential international travel to Canada".
I spoke to the travel agent who confirmed the outbound flight is still going ahead though the return journey has been changed by 2 days. The travel company state that i can have a credit note to use with 6/12 months
i have taken travel insurance company (Direct line) who are stating that the change of flight details makes no difference as its between me and the travel agent.
They now also state that because i can get a credit note that i would not be able to make a claim even though the UK gov web states not to travel.
When we arrive in Canada we have to isolate for 14 days and on return back home we have to isolate or 14 days currently.
has anyone had this experience ?
Its been a stressful trying to get help/support from Direct Line and the the travel agent.

I had a trip booked to Borneo which was cancelled due to lockdown in May. Most of this has been easy to get refunds or chargebacks on however we had a tour booked with a Malaysian company who said that they would refund but never did. It's been 2 months now despite them saying that the money would be transferred by the end of June. It's proving more and more difficult to get hold of them as they never reply to emails but as they said early on that they would refund I can't apply to the bank for a chargeback. Are there any other routes I can take?0

Start a charge back now and if they do eventually pay you then the charge back can be cancelled.
If you get the money from the charge back, then don't spend it for 45 days.0
