Typical!  I’ve been asking to switch over for weeks (it will work out slightly cheaper for me) but I just keep getting told to wait!  I can’t be the only one.  Why force some people to change sooner when there are others like me who would be happy to change now? 🤷‍♂️
There doesn’t seem to be any logic with which business has been put in the first wave and which have no date at all yet. For me the increase in costs connected to the loss of the PayPal micro account has caused me concern, I have started to run down my lower priced items and will not be restocking, which is a shame as many were quick and easy sellers.

The winners appear to be businesses who sell more expensive things for the rest of us it is likely to mean we need to increase our prices.

I filled out the expression of interest form on eBay weeks ago and they said they would be in touch.  It just seems ridiculous that lots of sellers who would prefer to be left alone are being forced to change early when there are willing volunteers being put to the back of queue.

I never went down the micropayments route.  It would have meant having two PayPal accounts to make it work properly and I didn’t want the extra admin of that.  So the new combined fee will work out cheaper for me and there should be less bookkeeping overall too.

Reading some of the hoops that people are going through is horrifying, eBay even using a third party to get people to log into their bank account whilst on the eBay page. It is absolutely shocking and I really wish a journalist would take this project up and highlight everything that is wrong with eBay just now and shake them into scrapping this ridiculous set up that has not gone down well in US and Germany where Managed Payments have already been implemented.
Isn’t the 3rd party Adyen?  They are the company that are processing the payments for eBay.  They are very well established and have been processing payments on Etsy for years.  I have had tens of thousands of pounds worth of payments from Etsy orders, going through Adyen and in to my business bank account and never had an issue.
No the third party some people are referring to is something like Trusty which people have reported that they need to go through this third party to verify their bank account.

I expect it’s Trustly.  Another massive well established company.  I’ve done a fair bit of Matched Betting and have also put thousands of pounds through Trustly over the last year or so when withdrawing from bookmakers and casinos, all trouble free.  Although I do appreciate that people might be nervous if they are not aware of them.

My bank was not automatically recognised but when I Manually entered details it was all very straightforward. I had none of the issues that some are reporting with having to provide photo ID , I just printed off a bank statement and uploaded it when requested.

I did think I might Have issues as I use just my first name and family name on eBay but my bank account has a middle initial as well, but it didn’t hinder me at all.

I’ve eventually sorted it.     They needed a back statement with both my name and the business name registered on eBay.     Luckily, the bank statement says Mrs ? Xxxxxxx trading as xxxxxxxxxxx

I left it right until the deadline but they kept threatening to restrict listings so I had to sign up. But now I keep getting messages that they can't verify the information. I've given all the details from my bank account including full name (its a personal not business account so the account is just linked to my name). Can't work out why it's not accepting the details?

There have been a number of people reporting random Problems all you can do is try and get eBay on the phone. I seem to have signed up OK, took me about 4 minutes in total.

US shop subscribers have just been given a permanent increase in the number of free listings they get with their shops, either as a bribe or a thank you for signing up to Adyen, I wouldn’t mind some sort of permanent benefit here in the UK. Our shops are way more expensive anyway than they pay in the US, their basic shop costs around £5.99 a month with discounts if they pay yearly. I won’t hold my breath though 😏

It seemed to all be fine. Then I got an email about an hour later saying they couldn't verify the details. I tried all different combinations of my name - full name/initials/middle name in case the bank was displaying it differently but still getting the error message. Will have to try ebay live chat tomorrow...

I heard some were getting an email offering a £1 FVF cap if they registered for managed payments between a certain date. I was holding on hoping I might either get the offer or that they might relax the dates and restrictions on unregistered accounts but sadly nothing. I don't have a shop just pay per listing but would be nice if there were some benefit for registering early especially as the loss of micropayments means we're going to be quite a bit worse off.

I signed up y'day and registration looks to have gone through fine.

However, as with many of you, I was offered the £1 FVF which strangely disappeared off my a/c as didn't want to sign up until the last minute. eBay telling me I was never offered this 'offer' despite telling them I have screenshots of the offer and dates it was available for. I have some expensive items on my a/c so makes quite a difference between £1 or the typical fees.

Makes you question what eBay are even capable of if they can't see their side I even received said offer. #rantover.
