I've given in and signed up, just waiting to see if they are happy with the PDF of my bank statement as some people elsewhere are saying that eBay came back and asked for more information including photo ID.

I had a problem as my bank statement didn’t reflect the business name on the account.
I went into settings and changed my business name to reflect that statement.    I am just waiting to see if they accept it.

They haven't complained or asked for more details yet on mine and my account shows;  We’ll email and notify you in My eBay Messages before activating your account for managed payments, starting in We’ll email and notify you in My eBay Messages before activating your account for managed payments, starting inlate July 2020late July 2020.. You’ve successfully registered for managed payments. Thanks for getting your business ready early.

Looking at the community boards there are still lots of very unhappy sellers- and still a good few refusing to sign up and threatening to leave when their accounts get restricted. I will have to put some of my prices up and probably drop a few lines as well due to loss of the micro account. There's also a lot of sellers who are having difficulty registering and who are being asked for passport scans or such like - which I haven't had to do (yet!)

Another very unhappy business seller here. I too sell low value items and am currently on Paypal Micropayments so like others this will impact greatly into my little profit. I have very reluctantly signed up but I am very tempted to start selling my stock on my private account. There are so many sellers already doing that and I have reported many over the years to eBay and nothing is ever done about it.

I have only been selling on eBay for just over 3 years but the whole experience is getting worse and worse, so many glitches, so little support and so expensive. The community forums on eBay shows there are many sellers who are not happy with this change and many are/have closed their business.

Reading some of the hoops that people are going through is horrifying, eBay even using a third party to get people to log into their bank account whilst on the eBay page. It is absolutely shocking and I really wish a journalist would take this project up and highlight everything that is wrong with eBay just now and shake them into scrapping this ridiculous set up that has not gone down well in US and Germany where Managed Payments have already been implemented.

I don't for one minute think that Ebay will give any concessions to micropayment sellers of which I too am one. I have not signed up and will not do so until I am forced to.  I wouldn't be so hard to bear if they said that they'd put every micropayment seller on to MP at the same time but as it stands, I would have to increase many prices by between 30p and 50p  just to maintain my current margins. If I do make those increases then all of the sellers not on MP will get all the buyers! It's ridiculous.  That, coupled with the increasing amount of private sellers who are really a business, makes me very concerned indeed.

Just a reminder that managed payments will not be allowed in certain popular categories like collectable coins, bullion notes etc. So anyone listing in certain affected categories once switched over will no longer be able to list those items on ebay. There are some high turnover sellers affected by this who according to other forums, cannot get any sensible response to ebay- they are all being told different things by different CS reps.

The other people who will be affected- and I suspect there aren't many, is those that sell collection only. At the moment all they pay on a successful sale is the FVF - and that won't change - but FVFs are going up to cover the extra paypal fees we currently pay when we use paypal - so in future the FVFs will take into account the extra FVF that covers what used to be the paypal element.

Typical!  I’ve been asking to switch over for weeks (it will work out slightly cheaper for me) but I just keep getting told to wait!  I can’t be the only one.  Why force some people to change sooner when there are others like me who would be happy to change now? 🤷‍♂️

Isn’t the 3rd party Adyen?  They are the company that are processing the payments for eBay.  They are very well established and have been processing payments on Etsy for years.  I have had tens of thousands of pounds worth of payments from Etsy orders, going through Adyen and in to my business bank account and never had an issue.
