CLF, I think 6 hours in the hairdresser's would be my idea of hell
That explains why my hair is just like a mop I suppose

To be fair, my hair is very mop-like apart from when the hairdresser does it. I never blow dry or style it. I do love my colour though!LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.315 -
Morning folks
@crazy_cat_lady - big hugs. I find that writing a big list, then crossing out everything that isn't completely mission critical that day helps me focus
@determined_new_ms - I hope work is ok. I felt weird after 5 weeks off so I can see why it feels daunting.
My hair is now a lovely bright red instead of pink and purple. It was supposed to be red, orange and yellow but there is green pigment left in the base of the purple which wouldn't lift so we couldn't go for yellow at all. There is orange in it, but it's so close to the red (due to the base pigments) that I can't really see it. It might become more apparent as it washes.
OH is home from Berlin and has a snotty cold. Before anyone says "coronavirus" he was starting with the cold before he left
I'm feeling a bit weird after having a very disturbed night of bad dreams. Including one where OH died which was a bit upsetting. I'm hoping that porridge and coffee will be the cure now.
Weather here is miserable and OH is still sleeping. We don't have any plans to go anywhere so I'm hoping to rope him (i.e. myself) into some gentle roundtuits.
Make meal plan. - done.
Poss either lunch or tea out (from budgeted spends)
Trim and freeze some sprouts that are long past their best - done.
Ring Riverford as they sent me the wrong box I think. I'm not bothered as such (although I wanted no potatoes and got an even BIGGER bag!). I'm more worried that they sent me someone else's stuff and I haven't paid for it. - done and who knows? I wasn't the only customer with the wrong veg though. They didn't want any more money so I feel like I came off ok. Although if anyone has any potato recipes, I could sure do with some!!
Been paid. Do start of month budget sheet. - done. Expensive month with hair and compost delivery! On the plus side, remembered that mil gave us £25 at Christmas towards compost.
Possibly go to local outlet village to look at a new frying pan.
Wash on. Make sure OH's stuff dried for Sat. - done.
Cut up salvedged plastic greenhouse cover into manageable bits
Will add more as I go
Have a good one all

Hi all am having a bit of a week. Have laryngitis but am at work with students, but sounding absolutely ridiculous. Skipped club run on Wednesday as very cold, and I was feeling ill.
A supposed to go and see friend tonight, but feel it might be too much for my missing voice.
Have been good and only done very minor top ups this week.
Am getting a revolut card next week I think any thoughts on monzo vs revolut? I wan't to move my daily spending away from my current account - as thats where my direct debits go from and I feel I get a bit confused and overspend sometimes. And I really need to crank the daily savings further.
Will catch up on reading soon. Thankful it's Friday.

@carrielovesfanta potato recipes:
*cheese and potato ‘pie’ basically cheesy mash baked in the oven. Lovely on its own or with sausages/ bacon
*sliced potatoes baked with sliced onion and milk/cream mixture poured over
* sliced in a Spanish type omlette
*cubed and fried with chorizo with a fried/poached egg on top
*bake any big ones for baked potatoes or scrape out the middle when baked and use the inside for mash and then fill with cheese, bacon, onion (or whatever Is in your fridge) and bake in the oven or pop under the grill. That’s made me hungry now, particularly as I’m not eating carbs at the moment 😲5 -

Afternoon all
Hope you are feeling better today CCLHope work goes ok DNMSPurps, take care, hope you are ok. Go you with the anonymous flowers, I got the water bill through the post, which doesn't really compare, does it!Horrible weather again here today, rain and strong winds again, not sure what this lot is called, I am losing track! Still, I am lucky enough to be safe and dry. My thoughts are with the poor people who are dealing with flooding
Not much motivation today, OH now has the lergy and we are sat by the wood stove already. Still, I did do some batch cooking earlier. Made a huge sausage casserole with 2 packs of YS sausages I got yesterday and lots of veg. Also a big pot of cream of tomato soup, as I noticed that a couple of packs of passata in the larder had gone past their BBE date by a few months. Not worried about that at all, but thought I ought to use them up! I will freeze some of both of these items.Claimed a £10 Amazon voucher from a survey siteAnd took the dog for a short walk (short at his insistence, he doesn't 'do' rain). Also sent OH to the recycling centre, lergy notwithstanding, with 2 huge bags of wood shavings that he thought he was going to smuggle into the rubbish bin, almost filling it completely
And sold some items on FB
I will get off my ample behind in a minute and do some cleaning and tidying upstairs. Also need to read meters, check banks and update spreadsheetAnd weather permitting, walk the dog again!Oops I didn't do much tidying
But I did use up a manky looking apple that was languishing in the fruit bowl (and a few storecupboard things) to make a really easy dessert. 'Playgroup apple cake' so called because we used to make it with the children when I helped out at a playgroup years ago. You need 2 eggs and their weight in sugar and SR flour. Or so the recipe states, but I usually reduce sugar in cake and cookie recipes by 20% or more, and that works here too, if you prefer. Crack the eggs into a bowl, add the sugar and whisk till frothy. Sift in the flour and stir in. Put in a greased tin, and sprinkle chopped apple pieces over the mixture. Ideal for using up bruised or tired looking ones. One biggish apple, peeled and cored, with the grotty bits cut out, was plenty here. Then bake at 180 degrees or gas 4 for about 20-25 mins, until firm (test with a skewer if you like). That is it. It will do as either a cake or a dessert, hot or cold. Nice to make with or without children on a wet afternoon. I had mine with a dollop of yogurt, OH wanted ice cream. Lots left for another day.

By the way CLF, if you run out of potato recipes and they start to sprout a bit you can always cook them, mash and freeze them for another time

Carrie I love this and it tastes a bit more special than it sounds! sliced potatoes (uncooked) and onions layered. Each layer sprinkle some salt and a glug of olive oil then pour over tinned toms and finish with grateed cheese. Cook slowly covered for about 1.5hrs, uncover at end. Goes well with sausages or even as the main eventDF as at 30/12/16

Managed my list apart from checking my payslip, will do that in a minute.Dawn thanks for the concern. I do feel better now but need to go next week and see someone about it. No cost though so that's good.I also cooked some chickpeas, will make hummus tomorrow and finally finished off my soup which I started making earlier in the week from a huge BNS.Found out who the flowers were from, it was very kind of them 😀 who doesn't love getting flowers. I was also gifted another bunch yesterday so I'm on a roll - can I make it 3 days in a row 😁
DH has also managed to get my tablet working. Not sure how long it will last but still, I'll take what I can get as we're not in a position to replace it at the moment so anything we get out of it is good.Did some work on DH business pages online today too.6 -
