Husband went shopping today, dressed in overcoat, cap, gloves and facemask. He was gone for only 30 minutes, including the five-minute drive there and back
I had made the shopping list based on the layout of the store. When he came back, he put all the shopping in the garage, then stripped and put all his clothes in the washing machine, and ran up the stairs to shower. We will leave the shopping for at least a day, maybe two, before we unpack. Husband was eager to have an orange, though, so he washed all the oranges in soapy water

Today I’m grateful for my neighbours. Both careers who are doing extra shifts to look after the most vulnerable and still taking time to ask if I need anything. Absolute heroes.
For my friends and family keeping in touch.
For my son’s best friend. A nurse working with the homeless with addiction problems phoning to ask if he could get my shopping or anything. Think under normal circumstances I should be asking him that.
Basically for all the really good people who are doing their bit, however small it may seem to them, to get us through this.
Keep safe and help one another
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -

Lovely neighbour brought a sample veg box and refused to take payment - will be having one each week (just have to decide if we want the small or next size up). May have a salad box just for next week (I concentrated on veg that would last) to cover Easter. Bin men came (going to write a thank you notice for next week). One of the bottles of milk was starting to go off so strained it and made quiches (reusing tinfoil cases) and ginger cake. Plan cheese sauce for the rest (maybe more quiche).Laugh of the day provided by DS3 who said could they use my account to order from Icyland. Good luck with that, no slots available and they're only delivering to vulnerable people (if you can get to a store, they expect you to). Did send him some contacts but he's going to go out shopping (he thought he wasn't allowedght ght he wasn't allowed toMy mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9

Wednesday- home schooling continues, I think today was NSD 12 but I've lost track. Seems fairly meaningless. This virus worries me, but what worries me more are the huge number of people still acting as normal.
Gratitudes- currently myself, family and friends are healthy, everything else seems to fade to insignificance! But also a beautiful walk, fun with DD despite current limitations and technology allowing contact with extended family.

Stay inside, Stay Safe! There are a lot of people just carrying on as normal. A neighbour up the road came back from Asda yesterday morning with a shopping bag, then yesterday he came back from Tesco with one bag and 10 minutes later he went to the garage shop down the road and that is just what I saw him do in one small time frame. So much non essential work going on too, some other neighbours had a guy in to trim their hedges, saw someone cleaning windows.Went for a run with DH last night as per the rules. There were numerous people about but all but one couple moved aside to give a wide berth, the couple in question were over 50 and holding hands and were the type that can't not hold hands and go in single file - they are old enough to know better.I am going grocery shopping this morning, I have a flexible list and don't need loads so am hoping I can be quick.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Sorry to cut and run yesterday, the laptop was being an absolute pig (left it charging overnight and it was ok in the morning). Plugged it in when it ran out and despite being plugged in for hours it never got fully charged (I keep leaving it to have a nap/ stop sulking before I go and plug it in) and response was erratic to say the least (writing coming up about 5 minutes after I typed it in, so not even bothering correcting the mistakes). Will get the new one up and running at some point - need my 'code' book which I know I have packed but I want to have a reshuffle with the stuff I already have out before unpacking more.I think the only thing we can do is to follow the rules set out by the doctors and scientists, do our best to keep our selves and our loved ones safe and try not to overthink things or fret too much about the covidiots (new word added to the urban dictionary this week).Mental HealthI know it's difficult, especially when you get into the freefall anxiety state but use all the techniques you have learned/ research new ones - mind.org has put some things up to help. Try to focus on what is in front of you right now and deal with that. Set up a routine that includes feeding yourself, basic hygiene, work (if wfh), any things that make you feel better/ good about yourself, exercise, some household tasks, having fun (it may sound daft but fun is still important and helps 'reset' your mind - some one on the preppers thread calmed herself by altering from thinking about being 'imprisoned at home, not knowing if she would ever see her grandchildren in real life again' to 'home being her little sanctuary, safe from all the madness of the outside world'.It may be some consolation that those of us with depression are generally more intelligent, more analytical, can grasp the consequences of ours and other peoples actions and work out how things play out further along the line. We just have to do our best to keep that under control and tackle the things within our reach and when there is nothing we can do, don't let the worry monsters scamper about willy nilly (some people think that giving the 'fear' or 'worry' a silly name helps to get it into perspective). Deal with today's problems, don't 'borrow' tomorrows.CovidiotsYou can only do so much about other people's thoughts and behaviours. Try to let your anger go. They won't change until forced to and the anger can harm you. Let it go or turn the anger into useful energy - punch some cushions, weed or dig your new veg patch, declutter that garage.Even on our mostly sensible little residents association someone was querying the Council's decision to close the market because 'the government says food stalls can stay open'. You couldn't stay 2 m apart in our market if you tried, let alone those who continue to shop on 'traditional' market days (even though it's now open 6 days a week) and stop to chat to their friends every few paces. I'm just waiting for the outcry about not being able to go and buy fish on Good Friday (only the fish stalls open) which for many is as immutable as the silent vigil in church. For yesterday I am grateful for sunshine, chinodoxia and a single minature tulip putting in an appearance and ginger cake (I was once told that my ginger cake was 'better than heroin' and the person telling me that would have known). I don't make it anymore at home (I've already had 3 pieces which is way more than I'm allowed) and mum went back for a second (large) piece. It's the sort of cake (from our bero book) that you chop a piece off every time you walk past it - I'd better try and hide some in the tin.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9

Mothernerd, you are a teaser! Recipe, please?!?!?!We have dusted off the wii-accessories, and I found my second bright blue leather glove underneath that box! It's only last November I threw out the first glove, after keeping it for 4 years, convinced the second one would come up somewhere!Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.598

I have unpacked the shopping husband did yesterday afternoon. He got most items, but he didn't buy milk chocolate! He bought chocolate milk!!! DD2 was upset, first with the shopping, but I directed her to husband, and let her explain in detail the difference between the two, and let her emphasise that she cannot drink cocoa milk (it makes her private parts painful...), which he should know, as we have discussed it often. Secondly.... there is no chocolate in the house, other than the bag of peanut m&ms husband bought for dd1, and which is dwindling rapidly.I got upset today, with dds not listening and stretching every boundary we agreed on, husband's reply to everything being 'I'm working', which I am too, but apparently less importantly or something. I told him he's cooking tonight, and dds (and their homework) and mealtimes are his responsibility tomorrow.Anyway, rant over. Grateful for:- lovely sunshine, dds playing outside and chatting with neighbours' children (keeping 4m distance)- laundry drying outside- enough food in the houseAre you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.598

Went to the greengrocer and Tesco this morning. It wasn't as bad as expected although the floor markings near the tills for queuing seemed to cause more of a blockage for people wanting to get around the end of the aisles. In all honesty there were several times we were nearer than 2m to staff and other customers but I suppose it is pretty much impossible all of the time. We did our best and apart from the usual suspects we got all of our shopping so we are good for the week, it does look like things have calmed down with the crazy buying.DH has been looking around outside at the jobs he wants to do at the weekend, I have suggested he paces himself to make them last. I got another load of washing dry outside, washed the dogs bedding and that is still out, washed the floors downstairs and in the bathroom and made a batch of pancakes for the kids tea. I will be going out with DH later to walk the dog.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
