I have really enjoyed today's sunshine. Dd and I went out the front during her PE lesson, and had a go at badminton. Our max rally was 4, which she is really proud of! It was tricky in the wind but we had lots of laughs. We moved aside when people went past, and it was nice to exchange pleasantries with them. I also mowed the back garden, weeded a little, and had a nice chat with our neighbour over the fence.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9

Cleaning and cooking today and I've been fighting to stay awake since 6 pm. Tomorrow turtles.Today I am grateful for finding ways to clean tiny gaps, for lovely food (lots more using up bits) and for merino wool (too tired to move all the layers in order to put the clean sheets on but happily sandwiched between layers of merino wool (sorry vegans). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9

Day 27For those of you who haven't seen itAnd the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And people began to think differently. And the people healed. And in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless and heartless ways, the earth began to heal. And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healedby Kitty O'Meara a retired Irish American teacher in lockdownBE-RO Gingerbread (I made double quantity and baked it in a small roasting tin, used to do quadruple quantity)12 ozs BE-RO S.R. flour 6oz sugar (you can halve the amount of sugar in any recipe)1 teaspoon ground ginger (I put more in) 4oz margarine1 teaspoon mixed spice 2 tablespoons treacle (we usually do half golden syrup)1 egg beaten with one teacup of milkFirst mix the flour and spices. Beat the sugar and margerine to a cream, and stir in the treacle, then add the dry ingredients and the beaten egg and milk, (alternately, a little at a time) and mix thoroughly. (To add a little chopped lemon peel, preserved ginger, or a few raisins, is an improvement). Pour into a shallow, greased dripping tin and bake in a moderate oven (350 - 375 F, Regulo 3-4) about three-quarters of an hour. (Test with a needle or I use a roasting fork - we have a broken one with only two prongs, put it back in if any 'wet' mix comes out on the fork) Cut into fingers or squares (Usually I cut into 1" squares and freeze but that's because I have to limit my sugar intake, others prefer chunky pieces. Have now hidden most of ours in a tin, with two other tins on top)Mental WellnessDay 26 Spend time outside. Put your face up to the sun, just for a minute and soak in the lightDay 27 Make a plan for something that you've been putting offWrite it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. He is rich who owns the day and no-one owns the day who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety. Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some mistakes and absurdities, no doubt crept in. Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely, with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. 'I am trying to work ' is a phrase that should be banned if you are in a room anyone else needs to use/walk through. It implies the other person is not working,'Try harder' is the only legitimate answer, to be accompanied by a cheery smile, and a salute.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Oh, and if you have a garden, and a tent, it keeps smalls (and quite bigs) amused for ages. You could even stick a working person in one and tell them it is an employment pod. Plus the kids will then go in there and bug them and you can lock the back door and let them get on with it.What is the difference between a camping bed and a sun lounger anyway? I am going to find out this morning - once it warms up a bit, maybe at coffee time (used to be elevensies pre-dieting).The average UK household debt (excluding mortgage) is £15,400. All that debt needs servicing every month, so for a lot of people who will eventually get money from t' government, they are in 3 months trouble already.I know how lucky I am not to have debt. Debt scares me. Hugs to those with debt.I am buying food and nowt else until this is over. I will have a spending holiday, I will see how much I can save until lockdown is over. I have not used my cards in a shop for 10 days. Then, when this is over, I am spending my money in smaller places, and there are shops I will never set foot in again.
To all turtles
