I have only four accounts with them, and they didn't need any further ID checks. Did you apply after logging in, or from the website main pages?

From memory, I looked at the website page on Regular savers, and clicked apply, it then asked me to log in and I completed the application. One strange part was after I clicked I was retired, for the next entry I clicked on "Occupation" and I was unable to get the dropped down list come up which is understandable! The next box I also could not fill in (Can`t remember what it was) so I scrolled to the bottom of the page and clicked continue and completed the application.

YBS Regular eSaver. I can open one but my wife can't. She gets this message, 'You haven’t had another account with us for long enough to open this loyalty account'. We have an old joint account but I am the main holder, would that be the reason she is being rejected?

YBS Rainy Day opened 26/9/22 - hope the RS is still available next Tuesday!

Just to say that this worked for me too. I have had accounts with YBS continuously for years but my only currently active accounts are <12 months (there was overlap with older accounts that are now closed).
I spoke to YBS help as applying after logging in said I wasn't eligible.  They told me to apply following instructions as above and it then worked.

Still this should be no reason to require ID from someone they must have already (recently I'm assuming) identified. Might be worth a phone call to see if they can proceed without posting ID.

"What's your annual income before tax?"  - the same happened with other employment status options such as "Home Maker" (I was curious).  It seems YBS either don't imagine people who are not in employment are likely to still have an annual income, or else YBS just don't care what it is.

My Rainy Day wasn't opened until January 23      Oh well, thems the breaks 

Maybe next time.   But will definitely keep a few £ with them, for the future, just in case.

Worth noting this current Beehive issue has £3250 max balance but the last one had £3500 max balance.

It also looks like they have resurrected the new website layout again (the one which didn't work last time).

I've tried applying twice, I get to the "Open account" button on the "Review & Confirm" page, at which point the site dumps me out to the main login screen.

If that's what it is caused by, going back to the 'new' website just before launching a likely very popular account won't have been the best business decision YBS have made lately.

I found that despite being shown the login screen again when I scrolled down the option to apply was there. Deceptive!

that trick didn't work for me (it kept saying I wasn't eligible - tried different browsers) - but seemingly what did work was using the app, applying via there - which redirects you to their site to login as normal, which I did (on the phone) and it allowed me to progress with the application - it's not showing in the app, but is showing on the site when I login (account number not real!)...

I did get the option to deposit at the end of the application, but I didn't bother - the deposit button doesn't work on the site for this account currently.. I suppose I could do a bank transfer to it, but i'll wait and see if it's really open tomorrow and fund then.
