I kept £10 in an account and closed it last week for the 5% account.
It would not let me join.
App First, then desktop logged in. Both failed.
Then web page again not logged in and we through.1 -

Skipton 7.5%
YBS 7%
First Direct 7%.
£1050 a month, savings to regular savings to savings and round and round it goes.
Tempted to close the latter if its possible.0 -

I'm not really sure that they'd want me anyway....unemployed, jobseeking, Spanish bullfighter....don't know what's the matter with this country, I can't find a suitable job anywhere.1 -

I found that despite being shown the login screen again when I scrolled down the option to apply was there. Deceptive!I've now found a workaround.Rather than logging in first and then starting the application within online banking, I instead went to the product page on the general website and started the application from there - logging in as an existing customer when prompted to do so.All worked OK when I did it that way round.that trick didn't work for me (it kept saying I wasn't eligible - tried different browsers) - but seemingly what did work was using the app, applying via there - which redirects you to their site to login as normal, which I did (on the phone) and it allowed me to progress with the application - it's not showing in the app, but is showing on the site when I login (account number not real!)...I did get the option to deposit at the end of the application, but I didn't bother - the deposit button doesn't work on the site for this account currently.. I suppose I could do a bank transfer to it, but i'll wait and see if it's really open tomorrow and fund then.0 -

Last time I had something similar the lovely postmen went on strike so that was a right pigs ear......
If yours was the same, you are not in limbo. Maybe you didn't write the details down?1 -

Crazy they still do that even when you already have accounts. I had that happen when trying to open an account as a new customer. I'd both heard and read on their website they used that hooyu system but apparently not because it didn't even try to use it for me, just instantly said it couldn't electronically verify and wanted proof either via post or via a branch. Only upside was they don't seem to require certified copies.0 -

They might return it. From memory isn`t the reference number the same as the account number with an 07 added on at the end?1 -
Can't you just ignore the request for ID if you already hold multiple accounts with YBS ?0
