Payment was made on August 31st by bank transfer.
Yes, I did follow the instructions contained in the passbook......I've got other MBS accounts so know the drill.
Obviously it's gonna remain pending until MBS get around to it.......they have their own unique time frame that follows the mantra of 'why do it today if we can put it off for a week or so'. I love MBS, but I do so enjoy complaining.0 -

I've got to try and adjust my expectations to 'Monmouthshire Time' .......apparantly this is a slower artificial readjustment of real time by a factor or 4 or 5 and can be extremely annoying.I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0 -
My issue is now resolved also.
Funds deposited by bank transfer on August 31st.......listed on their web site today September 7th.

Principality now have their Double Access ac at 4.85%, whilst their First Home Steps saver is 4.80%?
That doesn't make much sense...0 -

That doesn't make much sense...- "You can take money out three times every calendar year" First Home Steps saver, difference in rates makes sense to me.

MONMOUTHSHIRE EXCLUSIVE REGULAR SAVER
I am waiting to find out whether my online application for the above account last night has been successful.
My only other account with the Monmouthshire is last year's Christmas Regular Saver. I believed that would make me a 'qualifying member' under their condition that 'Your account needs to have transactions within the last 24 months'.
However, Andy Webb, Editor-in-chief of 'Be Clever With Your Cash' says this means you’ll need to have had your savings account since around 5 September 2021 to qualify:Monmouthshire Building Society Exclusive Regular Saver (8%)
Account name Exclusive Regular Saver Max interest in one year £155.64 Interest rate 8% AER (fixed) Max monthly deposit £300 Min monthly deposit None Carry over unused allowance? No Account closes 12 months Withdrawals Withdrawals allowed Requirements Must be an existing Monmouthshire Building Society Member with a savings account or mortgage. Your savings account must have at least £1 in it and your account must have had transactions within the last 24 months. Which means that you’ll need to have had your savings account since around 5 September 2021 to qualify.
This strikes me as a very odd interpretation.2 -

So, is an increase rate imminent? 'Cos if it isn't, the DA is certainly useless as an alternative at 4.80% vs Sant, Cahoot, Shawbrook, Cynergy et al that are above that and without the w/d restrictions....
That's not giving up on FHSs... it's just giving up...0 -
Monmouthshire's Exclusive Regular Saver (8%) appears to have disappeared from moneyfacts, suggesting it will soon go NLA. It's still on Monmouthshire's website for now so if you haven't yet applied it may be worth applying whilst you can.
