    I'm aware of that.
Payment was made on August 31st by bank transfer.
Yes, I did follow the instructions contained in the passbook......I've got other MBS accounts so know the drill.
Obviously it's gonna remain pending until MBS get around to it.......they have their own unique time frame that follows the mantra of 'why do it today if we can put it off for a week or so'. I love MBS, but I do so enjoy complaining.
Well if you're aware of it what was purpose of your post if not seeking advice? You say have MBS accounts so know the drill yet in all the accounts I have had with them it has never taken 7 days from sending a deposit to a "pending" account for it to no longer show pending and have the deposit credited, the longest has been 3 days. If this is normal for your accounts they are either doing extra checks on you or you're regularly extremely unlucky!!
I think your expectations of other forum contributors here is flawed. We don't all post here seeking advice......it's a discussion forum where e.g experiences, information, complaints etc are shared.

Monmouth 8% - had email saying 'An account has been added to your Online Banking profile. Please log in to view the details' but nothing showing online - any ideas?
Once you have your account number, you can add the account manually.  It will show as Pending for a day or two and then show as a normal account.  As allegro120 states above, if your deposit was sent as soon as you had the account number, the amount will show when the account is upgraded from pending and will have the date backdated to when you sent the deposit.
My accounts have been 'pending' for week now & I have no idea how long I will have to wait !

I've got to try and adjust my expectations to 'Monmouthshire Time' .......apparantly this is a slower artificial readjustment of real time by a factor or 4 or 5 and can be extremely annoying.

My accounts had been pending for four days so I rang them up and they managed to list them just before the phone line cut out 'again'.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.
  • My issue is now resolved also.
Funds deposited by bank transfer on August 31st.......listed on their web site today September 7th.

Principality now have their Double Access ac at 4.85%, whilst their First Home Steps saver is 4.80%?
    That doesn't make much sense...

    Double Access compared with
    • "You can take money out three times every calendar year"  First Home Steps saver, difference in rates makes sense to me.

Doesn't make sense to me using either of them ever since Tandem hit 5% (NLA) and now Santander 5.2%. The FHS had been on the cusp of being lower than EA accounts for a few months and it's now well n truly been left behind, even if it gets a 0.25% increase after 21/09.

But you need to have minimum £7501 to get that top rate and it takes you more than 5 months to get to that tier at max £1500 a month. Principality seems to have given up on that account. It hasn't been competitive for a few months now

    MONMOUTHSHIRE EXCLUSIVE REGULAR SAVER

I am waiting to find out whether my online application for the above account last night has been successful.

My only other account with the Monmouthshire is last year's Christmas Regular Saver. I believed that would make me a 'qualifying member' under their condition that 'Your account needs to have transactions within the last 24 months'.

However, Andy Webb, Editor-in-chief of '
Be Clever With Your Cash' says this means you’ll need to have had your savings account since around 5 September 2021 to qualify:

Monmouthshire Building Society Exclusive Regular Saver (8%)

    Account nameExclusive Regular Saver
    Max interest in one year£155.64
    Interest rate8% AER (fixed)
    Max monthly deposit£300
    Min monthly depositNone
    Carry over unused allowance?No
    Account closes12 months
    WithdrawalsWithdrawals allowed
RequirementsMust be an existing Monmouthshire Building Society Member with a savings account or mortgage. Your savings account must have at least £1 in it and your account must have had transactions within the last 24 months. Which means that you’ll need to have had your savings account since around 5 September 2021 to qualify.

This strikes me as a very odd interpretation.

Seems longer but it's only been just over a month since EA went above 4.80%. So not behind if you were on FHS the top tier.
So, is an increase rate imminent? 'Cos if it isn't, the DA is certainly useless as an alternative at 4.80% vs Sant, Cahoot, Shawbrook, Cynergy et al that are above that and without the w/d restrictions....

That's not giving up on FHSs... it's just giving up...

Monmouthshire's Exclusive Regular Saver (8%) appears to have disappeared from moneyfacts, suggesting it will soon go NLA. It's still on Monmouthshire's website for now so if you haven't yet applied it may be worth applying whilst you can.
