Lloyds Bank Monthly Saver (the 2% fixed one) - It appears to be possible to open one of these even if you don't have a Lloyds current account, provided you have a login to the Lloyds online banking site.
I've never had a current account with Lloyds, and have just successfully opened a Monthly Saver, and funded it directly from my Santander current account.
The application literally took a few seconds, and a few clicks (didn't even need to type anything) and the account appeared immediately.
You did well there as the summary introduction page clearly states:

    Who is this account for:
It's only available to Lloyds Bank current account holders who have not already opened one of these accounts in the last 12 months.
Several people have reported being able to open one of these without a Lloyds current account, myself included (didn't actually read the terms properly before I opened it).

I already had current accounts with all of these, lloyds, TSB, Halifax, & Bank of Scotland, but had never opened regular savers with them as I didn't consider it worthwhile. However, with the way things are now, I thought It was worth the effort. Mind you, its seems to be getting to the point now, where its a lot of messing about for little reward.

In one day, well about an hour,  I opened the Lloyds Bank Monthly saver, TSB regular saver, Halifax regular saver & Bank of Scotland regular saver - all at 2% fixed and £250 per month. Very quick and simple.
I've now got all of them except BoS. 2% fixes look pretty attractive now, especially the easy-access ones with no withdrawal penalties. I'm not sure whether to try for the BoS one, as visiting a branch could be awkward if that becomes necessary.

You can do basic transactions (deposits and withdrawals) on BoS accounts at Halifax branches in England (and vice versa for Halifax accounts at BoS branches in Scotland).

Just an FYI to those who have or are looking to open the Monmouthshire BS Christmas Saver or Saver Plus the current rate of 1.55% (including the 1% bonus) is reducing to 1.20% from 28/05/20.

Just about worth keeping £1000 SO payment for 1/5 because most of the month will be at the higher rate. Then ten £20 monthly SO`s. "Are we fighting a losing battle" comes to mind!
I think I'm going to do the same. A couple of questions for you guys:

    1. I was going to send a faster payment now and another on 1 May - but thinking if they don't process the money the same day it might count twice for May?

    2. Are people planning on closing this on 01/04/21 (after bonus is paid on 31/03/21) or keeping it longer term?

A Faster payment for today should be dated for today when you check tomorrow.

What I plan to do next year depends upon what the rates on other accounts are next year!  If everything is the same as now, I would probably keep it.

Did you know you need to hold a BOS current account to apply for a BOS regular saver?

I don't have either a Halifax current account nor a Bank of Scotland current account but I've opened both RSs in the last few months. Got some savings accounts opened by H and BoS from I think previous RS maturities, but I've never used them.
