That's right

I opened mine 3 weeks ago without issues (passbook arrived within 3 working days of me sending the application form off). I think they've got a point regarding postal strikes. I keep going a week or so with no post, then all of a sudden 20 letters show up at once. I imagine Furness BS are having the same problem, no applications arrive for several days then all of a sudden a week's worth shows up. Most of my post now arrives 1-2 weeks after being sent. It could also be lost in the post given the shear extra volume the posties are having to deliver on non-strike days causing them to rush. I've received my next door neighbour's post a few times recently as an example.trickydicky14 said:Furness Building Soc regular saver.
Sent off application form and cheque 10 days ago and as yet, nothing. Rang up yesterday only to be told we have a small backlog and don’t forget the postal strike. And as yet they have no idea where my application may be.
Anyone else applied for this over the past few weeks?

I wonder if that means only postal applications they already have in their pysical possession, the rest stuck in the post are therefore going to miss out.ForumUser7 said:Monmouthshire BS Christmas Saver Bond (Issue 5) 5.50% (24/11) https://www.monbs.com/products/christmas-saver-bond-issue-5/01/12 NLA for new postal applications. You've certainly got to be quick these days. I've lost count of the number of accounts that have been pulled or restricted in some form of late.ForumUser7 said:Monmouthshire BS Christmas Saver Bond (Issue 5) 5.50% (24/11) https://www.monbs.com/products/christmas-saver-bond-issue-5/01/12 NLA for new postal applications. I'm not familiar with the term "agency" here. Does it mean a third party with an agreement to sell MBS's products? Would this be by appointment at a physical location? Where would I find a list of such agencies?ForumUser7 said:Monmouthshire BS Christmas Saver Bond (Issue 5) 5.50% (24/11) https://www.monbs.com/products/christmas-saver-bond-issue-5/01/12 NLA for new postal applications. I did look on their website but no luck.2 -
Considering there has been a National postal strike today and yesterday there could be a lot of postal applications stuck with the Royal Mail.kaMelo said:

Their postbag tomorrow after 3 days backlog could be huge!1 -
I was also thinking that I sent my application last week but all I know is it could still be stuck in some bloody sorting office.kaMelo said:

I'm unsure. I would hope they do all postal applications dated up to today (assuming you have to sign and date the form), but I guess people could just date it for a previous date. Not sure if Royal Mail print the date it is taken into the system onto post anymore. I'd be surprising if they flat out refused to process envelopes that come in after today, given it is not the customers fault. Perhaps they have an internal timeframe taking into account the days it takes for mail to arrive, and the impact of the strike action, after which they won't accept applications that have arrived that day by post? If anyone contacts them, let us know what they say please!kaMelo said:
