I've just received the signatory form. I can't remember if you have to return it with a first payment (cheque) before you can access it online. Can someone confirm please?schiff said:Monmouth
It's a strange system, combined as it is with requiring evidence of the bank account even though it is now four times that I have unloaded RS proceeds to the same account. And the signature form even though they have had more than one before. The latter is just part two of the application and seems a bit of a throw-back to older times - unlike for example Skipton who simply accept that they know you and accept a normal no-strings application.
They really need to adapt to more modern and relevant systems.
Not that I'm too bothered about that if they keep offering 1.52%.0 -

I have only returned the signature form. I couldn't see anything about a cheque.granta said:

A cancelled cheque or a paying in slip can be sent as proof of the destination of maturing funds - if you have a RS maturing of course. Sending back the signature form is required to have a new account registered on the website and open to receive funds. It seems a bit old fashioned but that's the way it is.Daliah said:

Sending a cheque to open an account (or even deposit) is also possible but I imagine most people do FPs and/or SOs.1 -

Thanks, my question was because I've just received the signature form for opening the Member account. In the letter, it says you will only be able to access the account online once you have deposited funds. So i wondered if that meant I had to send a cheque to officially open it? But sounds like i can just do a FP.schiff said:

In the past I've sent a cheque payable to myself back with the signature form, they have opened the account, credit the cheque, updated passbook before posting it to me.

It seems once you have sent them a cheque, you don't have to send one again. You still have to do the signature thing for each new account at Monmouthshire.1

I have received my signature form for my Monmouthshire Member Regular Saver. But no envelope with which to send it back. Does anyone else have an envelope, or where do I send it?I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

No, it's a pre-paid envelope rather than a freepost address.surreysaver said:

I do have a spare pre-paid envelope you could have however that would result in me paying to post an envelope to you so you don't have to.
If you have a freepost address I'd be happy to send it.
