  • Same happened to me so used their online chat and they have requested a call back for me. I don’t think this account will be available for long with the good rate

YBS.  I requested a pack to be sent to open their new RS but have just received an email referring to Your Maturity Statement, so I hope they send me the right form. I might try ringing.
    The email says ...

    "Thank you for your request.
If you have requested an application pack, this will be sent to you by post and should arrive within the next 3-5 days. Once you return your signed application form, we can then arrange to transfer your savings into the new account.

If you requested a callback as you are not sure which savings account you want, someone from our team will be in touch shortly."

As the web site says it can be opened over the phone, I will wait for the call back.
  • How’s this for service,

Just filled out the request form online for RS pack, on the drop- down box I put in my local agent for YBS as we don’t have a full blown YBS.

Well, ten mins later my local agent rang me and said, why don’t you call in later to day and we can get it all set up for you.

Who said something about how these set ups run on antiquated systems?

I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.
  • Excellent, if you don’t mind going in.

    YBS Bonanza RS

I know I should not complain as it is such an excellent account, but I'll have a little moan anyway. The only way you can open this account atm is by Post. No account opening possible in Branch just now. They need to send you the application form by snail mail, it can't be downloaded, or emailed to you. Imagine how much interest they could pay you if they didn't have ancient processes!.
Application form and information etc is sent by email for you to download.

I would have gone into my local Branch but they are not doing face-to-face account opening atm.
  • YBS just rang me I could have had a telephone application appointment tomorrow but she warned me that the call would take approximately 40 minutes so opted for the forms to be sent out to me.

I just popped to the branch in my lunch hour, and they very kindly let me open the account there and then, as they weren't busy. The lady at the next counter was also opening one! As a guesstimate, I reckon it took about 15 minutes.

  • Further to my previous post another local branch phoned me a little after first and I told her another branch was sending out forms but I had heard they could be emailed. She has emailed the forms to me. She also said the account was only launched today

... Virgin Home Buying Coach Regular Saver isn’t mentioned anywhere? . . .
I opened one and one or two of us have 3 of these by now.
Can these be opened by homeowners?

Had a quick read of the website and it does state for prospective first time buyers.
Anyone can open the account. You just need to download the virgin hoe buying app and complete the first questions in the app. Somewhere way back there is a direct link to sign up without the need for the app, but this is against the rules.

It is also against the rules to have two........
