Worth mentioning in passing maybe in case notification has gone astray for anyone that still has the Chelsea Regular Saver from many years back, which was open-ended and had a max monthly deposit limit of £2000, the interest rate on this has been cut twice to only 0.5% in a few days time (already down to 1%). This was before the latest base rate cut so it may go down again.

Swingeing further cuts on YBS monthly savers. Issue 2 now 1.30% others 1%.
Can you tell me what the Monthly Regular Saver and the Monthly Regular Saver Issue 3 will be, or are they both going down to 1%?

Link to the pdf on the email with new lower rates

I set out a dummy transfer, and it looks as if you can.
    Yorkshire BS

Was that dummy transfer for the full balance as my accounts show the available balance as £10 less than the true balance?

Best either sending a secure message or telephoning them so the interest can be added on closure.

I know it's not technically a regular saver but does anyone know when the interest rate on the Nat West Savings builder is going to decrease to 1%?
Hadn't seen that was going down!  Where did you hear that?
Looks like the BoS and Lloyds 1% current accounts will be making a comeback  :D
I also hold this account and haven't been notified of any interest rate change..

I've found it now, Nat West has apparently told the Daily Mail they'll drop it to 1% on April 20th

I wonder if its worth keeping them open in case interest rates go back up?
I will probably keep Issue 2 as 1.3% is better than where the withdrawal would go; probably close the other once the 1.6% runs out
That's what I will do.  Although it is a risk - the interest rate could go back up, or the interest rate of where the money goes could go down!  I have a Kent Reliance Easy Access Account which is paying 1.3% - but that's variable rate, so could go down in the near future.

  • Looks like I'll be closing all three RS come 20/04.
Can't see the point in keeping any open as if rates do increase it won't be for a good 6 months yet and will probably be a max of 0.25%. By that time some peoples RS would have already matured and others could have found/already have higher paying accounts elsewhere.

Don't think telling the Daily Mail counts for telling their customers!  They've got six days to tell me, otherwise they're in breach of contract.
